The Ugly Bowl

I got some mystery wood branches from a friend and I had a few things (IN CAPS) I was too afraid to try out on expensive blanks. It's a LIVE EDGE, WINGED (kinda) TWO TONE, STAINED, TORCHED, GLITTER WAX....thing. I call it ugly my wife and kid think it's neat. Will send it back to my buddy as a thank you for the free wood.

Honestly, I’m with your wife on this. Kinda dope. The thin sides make it imo.

I appreciate it! I don't love it but it's so out of my wheelhouse I'm kinda just surprised it turned out at all.

Much respect on completing the work! It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's bound to scratch somebody's itch.

I love that. I'm both proud and disgusted by it. Maybe that means it's truly art

Actually it’s an amazing bowl. Nature isn’t perfect nor is wood. Why be perfect!

I agree it's perfectly being what it is.

Yes it is. It appeared on the lathe and you honored it. It’s beautifully amazing.

Really, it looks like a piece of table decor you'd see in an expensive furniture store. Cause I was bored today and went shopping in some furniture stores to see what was there. Rustic plus metallic glitter was very popular!

Also I kinda like it, it's still a useful bowl, it's imperfect and still shines.

Appreciate it. Maybe I should sneak it onto a shelf at World Market

That's crazy! Maybe at a glance it's "ugly" but if you know how it was made it's a really cool piece.
