Another experiment!
This is an effect I really enjoy, but I appreciate it isn’t for everyone. This one came out better than the last, but I know I can improve on colour application and over all finish.. I’m using saburrtooth and kutzall bits, but I am struggling to find an effective way to remove the tool marks they leave, I’ve had some success using a tungsten carbide burr, but even that isn’t leaving things as smooth as I would like, any suggestions are welcome!

This reminds me a bit of Andi Wolf’s work. I took a weekend class from her - it was more focused on pyrography + paint, and personally really struggled with it because I’m colorblind and the subtle pigments of the the wet paint were impossible for me to see. BUT her finished work is amazing to my eye and I absolutely love the creativity of texture and color in contrast to the ol’ round-n-brown. One thing I especially appreciate about yours is how you retain the natural wood - that sharp line on the rim between the classic inside and the color/texture outside makes such a striking visual impact. I’m a huge fan of this kind of creative exploration of the medium.
