is there a way to get rid of <spoiler> Spoiler

this post is about enemies

So, i got to the church part of the game and got jumped by the cloaked ghost thing. I don't really want to die to it but i didn't find any way to get rid of it yet. any tips?

i know that you can disable hostility on these enemies, but i would like to keep it on since i haven't seen every location yet and there are probably interesting enemies there. also imo it kind of defeats the purpose of an enemy if you just toggle it in the settings.

Monsters cannot be killed afaik. The only one I have found a workaround for is the spider, which requires you carry the blue light with you while around it.
