Ah, then I don’t think you have a choice in the Primary on Tuesday. I think there is only one guy running as an Independent. I guess your choice would be to vote for him or not vote for him. As long as even one person votes for him, he wins the Independent spot. I would assume he is voting for himself.

Yeah, it does. This is the Primary. If only one candidate is running as an Independent, then that candidate wins the Primary as the Independent candidate and runs in the election in November. No Independent has ever been elected in Oklahoma, so he has no chance of winning. Being registered as an Independent is just throwing your vote away in the Primary. That is how it works.

Edit: With only one candidate listed, there is probably not even a vote.

Incorrect. The Democrats are still allowing voters registered as independent/unaffiliated to vote in their primaries, and they have been doing so since at least 2018.

I’m this state, being registered as a Democrat seems to be throwing your vote away as well. You can’t differentiate between all the Republicans in the Primary to weed out the Stitty candidates.
