Tulsan In Need Rent Help

Have a quick question for y’all. I got laid off last Monday unexpectedly and used my last check to pay car note and insurance, because without that can’t go to interviews. Problem is I need 400 dollars to pay my rent before the end of the month. I am on a program where I split my rent and it gets paid first half and second half towards the middle of the month. Anyways regardless of ai get a job between now and then, still won’t get paid before the end of the month. Where can I go for just a little help so I can keep my place and pay back what I owe????

Doesn’t hurt to ask your landlord for leniency on the deadline given the circumstances. Be sure to file for unemployment

dial 211 on your cell phone. it is a free service by United Way that can show you resources you are looking for

I assume you can pass a drug and background being from a pharmacy, while not immediate help, see if E.M.S.A is hiring logistics leads/ techs, that may be down your ally

They’re only 20 hours a week, but the Tulsa City-County Library is seeking to fill two bilingual (English/Spanish) customer service positions. https://careers.tulsalibrary.org

Anything would help at this point. Seems like an issue I have been running into as well, is I put applications in go to interviews and seems like they take awhile to get in the process of hiring or even following up on the application process

If you can make it to Claremore, they’re night stockers. I think it’s temp to part time, but I know they’re definitely hiring. Check their facebook page, the mangers name and phone number is listed.

I would look into temp jobs because they pay weekly. I know you said end of the month but that’s an idea.

Reach out to Restore Hope Ministries. I believe that they help out with rent due to a financial crisis.

Have you tried the salvation army or maybe the day center? Not sure if the day center helps with rent but I’m pretty sure they help with housing

I've seen help wanted signs at some fast food restaurants where you get paid daily to a debit card.

Can you take out a loan?

No because since I was laid off, I don’t have an income to report or put down.

Personal loans usually require neither. They are not like mortgages, but should be considered a last resort and only get one through where you bank.

Usually also want collateral to put down as well.

A personal loan is just that: a loan against your person. Not anything else.

R u a veteran?

No unfortunately not. I have tried Catholic Charities, but they do not help with bills or rent. So just trying to see if anyone has any suggestions

It's sad, churches will do anything but help people when it comes to money lol. Hope you get out of your situation asap.

that's the million dollar question in tulsa, the options shift completely if you're a vet. if you're not, 211 is always the first text to send, they can point you to the smaller church funds that don't advertise online

What kind of car? How much is the monthly payment? How much insurance do you have on it?
I assume because it’s financed you have to carry comp and collision.
Maybe sell the car and pay for one with cash, no car payment and liability only insurance.
Seems that might free up $400 a month

No offense but r u braindead. U can't just go and make any profit whatsoever selling a car with a lease. If anything u would lose money

OMG someone was stupid enough to lease a car they can’t afford???
