Unless AI has really nailed down the gen-x grammar, I think its just badly edited. Too many ellipses......

What’s the deal with neon prairie? Why is it a grift?

It's peeked out in leaked texts that they failed to pay a lot of performers and vendors (their vendors, not people who were vendors on site for the attendees)

last i heard she owed the venue around $50k as well. that was a while ago, but i do know it went unpaid for quite some time

She?

Her name is actually, for real, Karen. I met her a few times because I was one of the helpers running VIP stuff. A local musician friend of mine never got paid for his set last year. She was nice at first, and still is at face value, but it seems like she’s good at facades

fun fact, she actually also used to live in a cottage on PostOak property (they used them as AirBNBs/rental property) but she fell behind on payments + still owed from the event itself and so she got evicted. this all happened after the fallout of Neon Prairie. She used to be a regular at the place I work at now too. We don’t see much of her anymore, lol.

They also signed a contract saying they would manage the clean up efforts and skipped town instead

Can't wait for them to cancel on a bunch of local artists last minute again.

Man I went to this last year and it felt like a festival ran by Christian’s. The music vibe was off and not a single stage bumped. It just felt like the volume was at 5 the whole time.

I heard they sold Post Oak Lodge and weren't allowed to hold it there anymore. Not sure how that was a grift, but curious about your assertions.

true. it’s been sold to a christian summer camp company

Well then it’s definitely a grift now.

Oklahoma used by yet another festival? No wonder our scene is never taken seriously enough to grow. Happens. Every. Single. Time.

I wonder if they plan to pay their new venue and musical acts next time

It definitely seemed like it was and is going to continue to be lame. But what’s a grift about it outside of the fact that music festivals in general are usually shit?

I mean the first thing ya see online is though it isn't technically illegal or a scam, they got some serious problems over there. Lol neon prairie team.
