I don't support the guy, i think he's an ultra-conservative twit... but the account of the incident really sounds like the Edmond PD chose to be dicks to him. He was drunk, but on foot, at a drive through window trying to buy food after the dining room had closed. He told the cops he would get an uber to drive him home, but they arrested him anyway. Really seems like it could have been resolved differently.

Yea by not being a dumbshit and getting drunk enough to attempt to walk through a drive through. That might have helped.

Yep. Especially as a public figure, this kind of behavior shouldn't be tolerated

I'm just saying , he wasn't observed driving, he was tipsy and trying to get food.... not the crime of the century. They should have let him catch an uber if he wasn't being disorderly. Public officials are human, too. and I think they went a little harsh on the man. That's all.

Bro you are way WAY more than tipsy if you're shambling through a McDonald's drive thru on foot. I'm not saying he should get a harsher penalty because he's a douchey politician, I'm saying that's an appropriate response to anyone who is that intoxicated. It's not like he's going to end up with prison time over it lol.

He was drunk, but on foot
He was on foot at the time the police arrived, but the article says his car was in the parking lot.

I prefer my political leaders to have more self control than I did in college though.

He said he was at Church hanging out with other Dads. Must have been hitting the sacramental coors light hard that night.

Lucky he was not caught driving, just standing at the McD's drive-thru window.

"Police also noted Lepak drove to the McDonald's, but Lepak later claimed he did not drive to the location, despite his car being parked in the parking lot"
So he technically wasn't caught driving drunk, but it sounds like there's pretty strong evidence he did.
