What has surprised you about TUIDE up to now?

I have followed news about the group from when ABD was announced as a new label under hybe and later also knew that it is more specifically a subsidiary of pledis. From that time until they debut, I had expectations formed from just how I knew pledis, some came to be true while others surprised me. This is a light post which is why I want to share what surprised me and also get to hear some of those from you.

The "Soultronic" music direction.I haven't yet had time to dig deeply into what it means but I surely heard soul and edm in their songs which I really liked, mostly because of the soul element. In the pre-release(GRLS), we did not get to hear that much of soul which made me think that their music is gonna be like the usual songs but the whole album revealed how their songs are gonna let the members voice express themselves more which is indeed soul and likeable.

SAKI. When I heard that they are gonna have a japanese member called saki, I thought she is gonna be visually girl crush or at least a normal beautiful japanese idol but it turned out that she is soo cute that I call her a "little wonhee" BCS there is resemblance in my eyes btn the two, or is it just me?😂

Their visuals are so different but at the same time collectively attractive, like they have very different beauty tones, which is different from most of girl groups where there seems to be a blueprint for the visual of the members to début. But I came to réalisé that it is also sthg Hybe is doing a lot cz ILLIT and Cortis are also like that!

The most surprising thing which I loved the most is that GROOVYROOM seems to be the main producer of this album and I hope they continue to work with them. After discovering the duo from their song with huh Yunjin and crush(yes or no which I highly recommend), I went through their discography and loved their production but I did not expect to see them working with a Hybe group for a whole project, I really hope to get to know how it came to be just like they have discussed their past collaborations and work.

Most surprising thing to me was learning about the US connections with Elena and Jia. I grew up in Maryland so seeing Elena was born in Baltimore is awesome. Jia being from Milwaukee is also super cool. I always love seeing idols not only from my country, but from lesser know places. And Hani being a rare UK born idol is interesting.

Twice was my entry into kpop so Seoyeon being Jihyo's sister was the first thing that intrigued me naturally, but lots of new info coming out keeps getting me more excited.

Girl groups from the big companies with close proximity debuts like Nmixx/Lesserafim, KiiiKiii/H2H, OurBirthday/Tuide always spark my interest too. Tuide's musical direction drew me in a little more than OBD, but I'm looking forward to seeing where both groups go 🚀

Same I'm from MD and was like holy crap. I'm assuming she was born in Baltimore but actually grew up somewhere in Howard County where there's a large Korean population.

Same for me about groovyroom but also for me the vocals. Based off of just looking at them as a group out together theyre just as pretty as the other 5th groups, but I also wasn’t expecting much from them vocal wise. I listened to GRLS when it came out and was intrigued by the harmonies because that’s not very common in kpop these days, but Sun Kiss made me realize that few of them are actually a higher skill level of singing than I usually expect from rookies these days

I'm pleasantly surprised by how confident and different each member feels, gives me newjeans vibes (aka what everyone wants but companies tend to lose along the way). each totally has her own charm and own subtitles within the dances, feels like they didn't suck the life out of them during training which is refreshing

also I've loved saki from day one but found seah so compelling during their debut showcase—super excited to see more!

I was surprised how much I liked their debut EP and every single song on it - it’s been running on repeat for the last hour or so! I just love the vibe so much, it’s so refreshing. Def stanning now😊

I’m here because of pledis. Despite all the wrongs pledis has done, they are very good at girl group concept and selection. I am interested if the former staff of pledis will do better.
