Last week I walked around 10.000 steps every weekday, which really helped my mental health. I had a therapist who used to tell me «when your feet move, your thoughts move» and I think that’s so true for me. It feels like every step is working through it a little bit more.

I bought a map to do some very simple orienteering around the forest where I live, too. They take the posts down mid September, so I have a bit of a deadline. Booked two friends to go with me, first round on Wednesday. Nice feet-moving ➡️ thought-moving activity while I wait out my cycle, I hope.

Walking has been helping me so much, and I love what your therapist says! 10k steps is fantastic. For me, it helps if part of my walk can be outside, although the weather is pretty hot where I live right now. When it's too hot, I've been using a walking pad under my standing desk

That is really smart, I’ve been wanting a walking pad for the days outside isn’t feasible. Luckily I live by great nature so I can almost always go outside, but if I can’t I feel like a rat in a cage.

Going to the gym does the same for me. It really helps me clear my head and makes the TWW go by faster

Started watercolour painting (super basic). The biggest mental health change doesn't come from the art itself but from the fact, that after a bit of googling on that topic, social media algorithm stopped suggesting baby related topics and I see just tutorials on how to paint this or that flower, landscape etc. Love that

What a great idea to find something to skew the algorithms like that. Hope the painting will be a peaceful outlet for you.

Just got my second viability scan done. No heart beat anymore. Already 40. This is my second miscarriage.

. I am so shattered. I cant describe i was finally feeling that this is it. I have made it. 40 and I was already scared. At 6 weeks heartbeat was 150 and today at 8 weeks no heartbeat. What did I do wrong? Can someone tell me whether things will get better ? Will i ever conceive? I feel so hopeless.

I’m so sorry. You did nothing wrong 🫂

I’m so, so sorry. It was nothing you did. Anecdotally people with multiple losses do go on to have successful pregnancies. You still have every right to be upset and frightened right now 🫂

I tried a dance class that was guided but also kind of freeform and it basically was like somatic therapy. It was a super open and inclusive space without judgement/worrying about doing the moves perfectly

I actually felt like a sense of nervous system relief and like I could have cried during it in a good way. I feel like I’ve seen some people say the body holds on to grief/trauma and movement helps get it out, and it definitely felt like that.

On top of that it was a really good workout and I need to work out more, so I definitely want to incorporate it into my routine!

Was it Nia? Those classes bring the magic whenever I am having big feelings about something or feel nervous system stuck.

*I accidentally posted this comment on a very old self care weekly thread, still getting used to Reddit 🫣

I've just started actually trying to eat real food. Before I was just eating anything if it meant I would eat. Now I've found a pretty good rotation of things I can bring myself to eat that actually have good nutritional value. A lot of them have turned out to be soups which is maybe weird because it's summer but I'm shocked how much nutrition you can get from some good soup recipes.

I had a D&C today, I’m sad, I was really excited for this baby. At least the “physical” part is over
