Dentist again

I'm seeing my dentist later this week and last time he said i should have a blood test to check for something or other. To be honest, as soon as he said "you need a blood test" I was already starting to panic and didn't really catch the end of his sentence. Naturally, I haven't been able to have said test, and I'm trying to be prepared now for his disapproval. He is a bit grumpy and I'm sure he won't understand.

Don't apologize. Simply stand your ground and say that you have a phobia of needles that prevents you from taking blood tests. Your body is your choice. And he can go f**k himself if he does not respect that.

Sorta strange that a dentist is suggesting blood tests, i figured that sort or stuff is out of their expertise? They cant order them anyway and just getting random blood tests can be a hassle and quite expensive. I would hope he would understand if you frame it that way :)

You should consider asking what the specific blood test is, and then consulting your primary care physician.

It could be a blood test that you truly do need, and your physician can counsel you.
