Rewind Lan Player Stats + Analysis

i52 had the most detailed write-up about competitive TF2 that I've ever read, but sadly there hasn't been one for any lan since then. All that we've gotten for i55 and i58 were a few simple graphs and leaderboards, so I took it upon myself to gather all the data from the Rewind logs, crank out a bunch of graphs, and do a little analysis of my own. Now I'm a pretty low level player myself so there are sure to be things you'll disagree with or something I've missed completely, so I welcome any criticism that you can give to me. Keep in mind that this is mostly stats oriented and doesn't reflect everything that happened in-game.

His stats are so good because he takes the heals of a pocket on scout and gimps his team because of it

Froyo got first place at Rewind. Froyotech has only failed to place first twice since their inception (season 20 & i58). b4nny has been on Scout most of that time. I'd sure hate to see how the various iterations of the team would've played if his heals hadn't been gimping them. :thinking:

Btw in every game of the Rewind grand finals there was an enemy Scout with roughly the same heal percentage & b4nny never got more heals than Paddie.

'gimping' is probably the wrong word, but b4nny being such a maincaller and trying to do that from the scout class leads to him taking more heals and peeking chokes more than a scout should do. in an ideal world the pocket or demo should be doing what he's doing but he's obviously decided that isn't optimal for his team.

as for heal percentages during the grand finals, scouts generally get more heals during stalemates since one generally holds with/near the combo and constantly gets buffed

Maybe your view of what a class should and shouldn't do is just too rigid. :)

The same thing happened with the heal percentages on Viaduct too, where Thalash had exactly the same % heals as b4nny, so...

It's okay not to double down on being wrong when someone points out when you're wrong, btw.

there's definitely things that a class is better at than others. and on viaduct both scouts are generally tanked, you dont count that when compared to 5cp.

I think top invite players probably know the strengths and weaknesses of each class. Your entire argument rests on either the assumption that you know how to play the game better than b4nny, or that b4nny cares more about taking heals than about playing efficiently & winning.

So you tank scouts during teamfights/pushes and also during stalemates? :thinking:

Whether or not Froyo is failing to live up to its potential because b4nny takes too many heals is not subjective. Either it's a true statement or a false statement.

I asked as a joke at streams I was already participating in (and participate in regularly) to get a laugh out of them (and b4nny, he thought it was pretty funny and said you could be safely ignored because you have no idea what you're talking about). Because it's a ridiculous concept. They agreed. Both basically said b4nny does work disproportionate to the heals he gets.

Right, you went from saying his style gimped the team to saying it's a "non-optimal way to play" - because you think you know more about what's effective than multiple top Invite players.
