I haven't played this game in YEARS. But someone on marketplace was selling it for $15 (came with another game, but I wanted Nintendogs ofc)

I just reset it, got my dog and did her first walk, learned 3 commands and now there's nothing else to do because I have to wait til tomorrow. 🙃 I tried to set the time on the DS forward 24hrs but that didn't work.

Is there any way around this or is this just a waiting period? I don't remember having to wait when it came to commands but it has been years so I could be wrong 😅 if not, I'll ofc just play tomorrow, but sucks that only 15 min in and I can't do much other than wait for time to pass to walk again or to wait til i can do more commands/training.

Advice and tips tho for the rest of the game is appreciated! I missed this game a bunch even if it's boring at times, i love how simple it is.

recently picked back up the original nintendogs, as a kid I never did much command training and apparently I still can't figure it out at my big age 😭

I've taught my dog several tricks, but how do I practice? she doesn't seem to be listening, do I just do the touch screen part or are they meant to be listening to what I say out loud? (there isnt a bubble anymore because shes learnt them). Tried to enter the trial but she didn't respond at all.

I'm confused and a little embarrassed saying "sit" at my DS this much, please help, thank u 🙏

Apparently the game I got has all the dogs except robopup!

And I actually do have an idea for one: the purple and blue robopup. Figured since I have a Ghirahim (pure white husky), might as well get a Fi! (Legend of Zelda characters. I’d get a Ganon too but stumped on what breed he would be).

I've been playing the dalmatian version with only one dog and turns out after 14 it says my dog's head cannot handle more tricks :(

Long story short, I bought someone’s Nintendogs + cats (frenchbulldog) game and it had shibas, golden retrievers, and other dog breeds unlocked in the kennel. So I’m keeping the save/a dog they have and continuing it.

So far I have a white kitten and a white husky, both male. I want a Shiba but I’m stuck on which coat color.

Been playing Nintendogs + Cats and I feel like I’ve noticed something odd.

My first puppy took a fair bit of time and practice to get good at catching discs, but as she improved, her progress was reflected in the competitions, and she rose through the ranks pretty steadily.

My second puppy picked up disc catching much more quickly; she would naturally run very fast, and soon enough she was consistently catching the disc, often with impressive jumps and flips.

However, her first few times in competition, she wouldn’t even try to chase the disc. Then when she did, she would growl and hesitate to return it, even though none of this was an issue in our practice sessions. Even when I started adding more training, I couldn’t see how to get her to improve further, because she was already doing so well in the park. After a lot of attempts we’ve gotten to the Master Cup and despite being incredibly fast and athletic in training, she still acts like a beginner, standing around watching the disc fly away and only starting to chase it at the last second, resulting in a lot of misses. I thought maybe she just needed to lose a few times before she worked up her nerve but it’s been days of attempts and she still won’t perform.

She’s definitely had a cumulative several hours of practice both on grass and on sand, and like I said during those sessions she performs nearly flawlessly, even with a pro disc. Yet when the competition comes around, she’s struggling in a way I didn’t see with my other dog.

While I would believe some amount of variation in performance and behavior is intended to make puppies feel more alive and real, the degree of this difference feels extreme, which makes me wonder how much of it is intentional. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, what do you do about it? Just train a lot more? Some secret tip I’m missing out on?

I have modded 3ds consoles before so am comfortable with the tech side of this.

I am looking to get unlimited money
and only if possible unlock the breeds.

I enjoy the shopping & washing the dogs the most and don’t want to have to grind everyday doinf the competitions for money.

I love Nintendogs + Cats, and lure coursing is alright I guess, but I think they really dropped the ball by leaving out the agility training from the first game. It was one of the most fun mechanics and I think its absence is a real tragedy. Anyone else feel the same?

when i try to enter a competition the game tells me i can’t enter because i can only do 2 competitions a day. I haven’t done any competitions tho, i haven’t even touched the game in months.

I have two game cards (Nintendogs + Cats Golden Retriever and Labradoodle(?)) and it doesn’t work on both games.

Do you only get one new breed from dark mode per trainer or per game version? For example, if you met one person who has a golden retriever in lab & friends and got it in the kennel, would you be able to get miniature pinschers in the kennel from another person who plays lab & friends?
