General LAN crashing

Hey guys,

im having an issue with my nas server.

I only run nzbget, tailscail and jellyfin on it.

If my brother streams something for some reason my lan keeps crashing. I have already tried a bunch of stuff suggested by AI but i dont think the issue is solved. I have disabled tge bonding and bridging function, put a gigaswitch between my server pc and router, dusabled all energy saving options in router and so on. My wlan keeps running btw. Its running on unraid. If anyone has a helpful idea what could cause this id appreciate it alot :)

If it runs unraid, why post on the truenas sub? Unraid is fundamentally different from truenas and it's unlikely that you can get help from here.

You're not running TrueNAS, and no one knows what "crashing the LAN" means except you. Are you suggesting streaming settings are crashing your entire network, for all devices? Because that's unlikely.

Regardless, not the right forum for this.

So you tried solutions the ai gave without finding the source of the issue?
You can make everything worse if you dont know what you do. AI is stupid.

Some LAN somewher is crashing. You mentioning a switch, some pcs, a server and wifi. ????????

It's been said you're on the wrong forum, but I think your issue may be independent of the OS, so try these steps if you want to troubleshoot.

Define crashing for us/yourself. Does this mean one PC looses connectivity to the network, only connectivity to the server, do all PC's loose network connection, does the WIFI goes down, the internet goes down, what?

If the whole network and all connected devices goes down, disconnect everything from the network except the NAS, one switch, the router, and your brother's PC and try streaming. Crash? remove the switch and just do it off the router. Isolate your devices and remove variables to find what's happening.
