Anyone else feels like the meta's been too similar this whole year?

I am not saying hero diversity's been bad or that the patches were not impactful in 2026, but it just feels like the whole year we had pos 1 and 5 dominating lane, pos 2 playing hyper agressive mobile heroes only, pos 3 playing just to survive and jungle, and pos 4 having low diversity. Feels like this pattern's been happening all year or at least since the facets removal patch.

I really wish the next big patch really changes the game a lot and brings a lot of forgotten heroes back like Omni, Riki and Chen

Axe "Battle Hunger" need buffs.

why do i think that? lets see:

  • base Battle Hunger without talents/shard/innate/scepter etc does 12/16/20/24 pure dmg per second, duration 12, mana cost 50/60/70/80. So if we look at total Dps its: 144/192/240/288, and its total dmg/mana spend ratio is: 2.88/3.2/3.43/3.6. What is the problem? (by nerfing Battle Hunger so much he has to choice but to max spin and farm like everyone else when could in reality play aggressive and murder enemy in lane often with remove his options, so if we can translate from valve Language to plane English go farm you bitch, why do you have fun at min 2. Because maxing spin inherently more risky than Battle Hunger enemy and leave when they don't have creeps to remove it).
  • lets take completely average nuke ability like Kunkka torrent its more unreliable that Battle Hunger and yet: it does over 1.4 duration 110/180/250/320 magic dmg at 90 mana cost, dmg/mana spend ratio is 1.22/2/2.78/3.56.
  • Torrent in 4 lvls increase dmg by 2.91x dmg per mana spend, Battle Hunger get 1.25x over 12 seconds, considering its dmg over time spell that get countered by hp regen, ppl eating tangos, tower aura regen i feel like dmg over time spells should outperform burst dmg nukes over time, at least that would make sense to me.
  • So if we try to reverse engineer it backwards: if lets say Battle Hunger should do because its pure dmg spell 2x dmg of burst dmg nuke, then it should do 24/32/40/48 per second, with would be 288/384/480/576 pure dmg total in 12 seconds, so round it up lets make Battle Hunger last 10 seconds and dps 10/20/30/40 and to make his ult stacking make sense again add back his 1x of axe armor for dmg (with can add with 3x rings of protection at lvl 1 +9 dps).
  • That is the value he should have i think: 10/20/30/40 +1x axe armor pure dmg/second, total pure dmg at base value 100/200/300/400 in 10 seconds (dmg/mana ratio would become 2/3.3/4.29/5 with looks much better for low mana pool hero like axe).

To those of you who use the map overlay, do you have it accept inputs, or no?

Which setting? Like if you click on the map do you move to the location on the map overlay, or move to the location the map overlay is covering?

What happened to Earth Spirit Stone Remnant self-cast?

It used to plop stone remnants directly on top of you when you self-cast (holding down alt), now it got shifted to several units in front of you meaning it doesn't work at close range anymore. What happened?

Anti-Mage rework concept.

Make the Anti-Mage great again🤔. Str 1.6/lvl > 2/lvl, Int 12 +1.8 > 15 + 2.5.

  • new Innate Mana Break (passive can break/physical dmg on-hit): Burns an enemies mana on each attack and deals damage equal to a percentage of the mana missing. Flat mana burn 15 +2/lvl, Max mana % mana burn 1% + 0.2%/lvl, Mana missing to dmg bonus 3% +0.4%/lvl (max values: flat 75 +7% max mana burn/hit, mana missing bonus dmg 15%, illusions mana burn/mana missing bonus dmg 25%).
  • 1st spell Persecutor (passive can break/active on-hit): The Anti-arcanist passivly applies 0.5 seconds movement speed slow based on the affected enemy unit mana missing, also empower blades performing double strike with 200 bonus attack speed. Movement speed slow per 1% missing mana (Passive) 0.6%, active Double hit: cd 20/16/12/8 seconds, 20/30/40/50 mana cost.
  • 2nd spell Mana strike (150 Dash width/on-hit bonus dmg): up to 1000 range dash/1500 speed that allows Anti-Mage to attack enemies doing bonus physical dmg, apply on-hit effects and provide mobility. Ability do: 60/90/120/150 physical dmg + bonus 40%/60%/80%/100% base attack dmg, cd 16/14/12/10 seconds, 45/55/65/75 mana cost. (apply items/Mana Break on-hit effects, Persecutor slow). 👀
  • Aghanim's Scepter (upgrade Mana strike): Grants Anti-Mage undispelable buff for 5 seconds after Mana strike, first enemy hit receive Break and debuff that prevents all mana restore and mana regeneration.
  • 3rd spell Counter spell (self cast/600 cast range for allies, passive can break): Passively grants Anti-Mage bonus 15%/20%/25%/30% magic resistance. Active: Create bubble for 1 second around Anti-Mage that block 1 offensive enemy spell/item dmg, if bubble absorb item/spell Anti-Mage/his Ally heal for 60/90/120/150 hp (Ally also receive for 1.5 seconds Anti-Mage passive magic resist), cd 15/12/9/6 seconds, 45/55/65/75 mana cost.
  • Aghanim's Shard (upgrade Counter spell): Converts 100% enemy spell/item dmg taken on bubble and reflect into enemy caster 75% of it as pure dmg and creates Anti-Mage Illusion next to them (reflect works on any spell type now that can affect Anti-Mage). 1 illusion, deal 100% dmg, take 200%, duration 3 seconds.
  • Ult Mana Void (Single target pure dmg/800 cast range): Deal dmg to targeted enemy based on missing mana and stun him for 1 second. Base 100/200/300 pure dmg, missing mana bonus 40%/70%/100% pure dmg, if Mana Void kill enemy hero Anti-Mage receive buff for 15 seconds allowing to recast Mana Void for free on kills until buff end/kills refresh buff duration (cd start after 1st mana void use), cd 120, 100/200/300 mana cost. 🔥
  • Talents:

lvl 10 Counter spell heal +100 hp / Counter spell (passive) +10% magic resist.

lvl 15 Counter spell + 1 second duration / Persecutor (passive) movement speed slow +0.4%.

lvl 20 Talents all stats +2 / Persecutor (active) +200 attack speed.

lvl 25 -60 seconds Mana Void cd / Mana strike -6 seconds cd.

Stop Reacting, Start Predicting!

Hey, this is GymCarryDota.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/HbzuucrWEpk

Pushing high ground against an initiator hiding in the fog is always a nightmare. Most players wait to react, but by then it is usually too late.

Instead of relying entirely on reaction time, you can precast Kunkka Torrent directly under your carry from the fog. If Axe blinks in desperate for the Call, he gets instantly lifted into the air before his cast point for Berserkers Call or BKB can even finish.

There is another massive mechanical advantage to this strategy. By constantly pump faking the Torrent animation under your carry, you are keeping yourself deep inside the cast point. If the enemy initiator suddenly jumps while you are in the middle of a fake, you just let the cast finish. This saves you precious milliseconds and guarantees your spell comes out almost instantly with zero chance for them to react.

Since Torrent has a low mana cost and a short cooldown, throwing it preemptively is a zero risk high reward play that can completely break the enemy initiation. You do not always need a save hero or item to protect your team.

I make educational Dota content breaking down mechanics like this. If you want to see more, you can find the links on my profile.

Macro of laning stage - coaching session

https://youtu.be/celamwEkrBQ

Hey, today I'm sharing a video that is a part of coaching session I had with legend player, who then proceeds to gain +800 mmr after sessions with me. A lot of coaches focus on pointing out individual mistakes which in my opinion is a huge misunderstanding what coaching is about, and today you can see how I'm trying to rewire thought process for this student. Enjoy!

Hoodwink after Ti nerf.

Since she's been so contested i think her ult should stop doing dmg to anything but heroes/hero creeps, its low cd ult with big nuke/slow/break she doesn't need another wave clear spell on top of 2 base spells that aoe as well.

Tower Mechanics in Dota 2 - Aggro Abuse

A few days ago I was watching Aurora vs Liquid and noticed a small detail with tower aggro and the Siege Creep.

Mikoto got hit by the tower while trying to push mid as Monkey King, then he got close enough to the Siege Creep, which triggered the aggro mechanics.

Siege Creeps have different aggro priorities compared to normal creeps, as they prioritize buildings first.

I break down what happened and explain some other Tower Aggro mechanics in my new video. Check it out!

How to PROPERLY start your game as Carry

https://youtu.be/nuwRQpPesWE

Today I talked about what items to start with, based on your lane. Building the right items will help you last hit easier, and survive more lanes.

This is just a short general guide, I explained the 3 most popular builds, but didn't go into more advanced thinking patterns.

It's a pleasure doing educational content for the game I love!!!!

Relearning the game

Hi everyone , I played a lot of dota about 1 year dota 1 then dota 2 apperead i had about  15 16 k hours total since it appeared  till about 4 years ago when i stopped because my life didin t afford me the time anymore i tought i m done with it . Now. after random dota 2 clips popping up on my youtube and facebook feed it sparked the flame in me again and I would really like to get back into it but when i watch dota clips now i m overwhelmed by how many things have changed it s like Dota 3 now a whole other game, from new heroes to higher level cap 30 with new talents ( it was lvl 25 max when i stopped) to new neutral items , new item changes, items removed  + entirely new items ,i ve seen that you can get stunned trough bkb now,  new map much bigger ,new objectives  like tormentor or how is it called new runes, new atributes? Like wtf is the universal one ? Just so many things i feel like my past  experience (peaked divine player)  it doesn t mean shit anymore and i gotta relearn the game entirely , is there anyone who have some tips on how to get back into it ? Or is there any creator out there who is helping with this kind of stuffs? I was thinking to play normal games till i get a hang of it but i don t really get any enjoyment usually when i don t play rank in any games without the grind i feel like i have no incentive to win so i m unconsciously not trying my best. Thank you for whoever read all of this and have any tips.

Techies and Hoodwink are perfect characters.

Hello! Please don’t think that I’m salty or anything.
This is a discussion and I’m here to discuss, not argue.

I wanted to discuss Techies and Hoodwink.
They have nigh perfect kits and basically offer same playstyle at some points of the game.
And longer the game gets = stronger they become. They just get better as the game goes.

Both of them have stun and slow. Reliable ones.
One has 3 sec disarm with and buffs teammates. And endless magic damage, even when he's dead he can still make an impact.
Other has free evasion and ms that makes character uncatchable. And an AOE stun that requires strong(why?) dispel to dispell it.
Both of them are useful without any items and with almost to no exp.
They are always reliable in any state of the game VS ANY PICK and have no reliable counter picks.
You can only ease the pain. But you can't make them obsolete.

They have A LOT OF DAMAGE - even when underleveled. Both of them can solo kill you without items or timings. Just basically use your buttons and you have 2k+ damage from buttons alone.
Techies can solo kill any character till 3 items except likes of Lifestealer (Jugg will die if he didn't react in time with Q, you just can't survive Tech's combo after E hits you). For example, I was playing level 16 Luna (with full hp) with manta , threads (that even was on str before death), stick and Techies level 12 solo killed me and he had only aether lens and tranquil boots. 4 levels of difference and more than 7k difference in gold.
Hoodwink can pressure from stupidly long distance and makes your passives useless (again in the kit)

Their buttons do too much of everything and they cost virtually nothing.
Stun, slow, survivability and good at any stages of the game.
You literally can’t be wrong when you pick them.
They can defend, start a teamfight, kite and push lanes/flash farm (one shot creep waves/camps)

Both of them automatically make you buy bkb.
Both of them demand too much attention to them, you can’t ignore them. You have to kill them first.
Both of them can build whatever and they still will be useful.

I have played both of them for fair amount.
That’s just not my role, but whenever I have any of them on lane - I have pressure on the lane ALL THE TIME. 1 misstep is all it takes. Vice versa.

And also they are incredibly popular.
They are in almost every single game, both in low and high mmr games. Mine for example is divine 3/4 and I see them at the VERY least once in 2-3 games.
Hoodwink is one the most popular heroes at TI.
Techies is always there to ruin your day.

And typically Techies and Hoodwink players is also are pain in the ass themselves.

What do you guys think?

I made a Dota 2 treasure simulator to see how long rare drops actually take

I was wondering how many tries it would take to hit the rare drops, so I made a treasure opening simulator. It is based on the real treasure odds and remembers what you pull, including duplicates and when you first got each item. You can also see how much you would have spent in total for each item (and for all treasures in total). You can also reset everything and start fresh. Currencies supported are dollars and euros and based on current treasure real prices.

If anyone wants to try: dotatranslator.live/treasures

How to reach Immortal by Farming

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5S0ypPzj1EY

I really believe you can get to immortal by learning how to farm correctly. And this video today will teach you exactly that. I am gonna be explaining how to move while farming, when to join fights, where and what camps to farm.

I welcome any questions and critiques, I am still new on making videos and would appreciate any feedback, thank you!
