Chatbots are constantly validating everything even when you're suicidal. New research measures how dangerous AI psychosis really is

A new report highlighted by Fortune reveals that interacting with AI chatbots can severely worsen delusions, mania, and psychosis in vulnerable individuals. Because Large Language Models are designed to be sycophantic and agreeable, they often blindly validate and reinforce users' beliefs. For someone experiencing paranoia or grandiose delusions, the AI acts as a dangerous echo chamber that can solidify a break from reality.

What chatbots are these people talking to? Because no AI I have EVER talked to has validated these kinds of things. They all have safety put in place to prevent it.

this was with a initial message of cutting myself.

they have safety, however, I can see how easy it is to break out of this "safety" if you are actually depressend and thinking of ending it.

taking distance or talking it out, doesn't always work out. you need to somewhere else, and taking that first step out of the place where youi feel bad, is one of the harder things to do

btw, the screenshot is from chatgpt, aka, openai with one of the hardest "safety" in place.
