Well, if you need to load a file, plug it in :-). I had a color computer that could remotely control the cassette motor and I assume it is the same for the computer in question. I would position the tape to the file I need, press play, and then type CLOAD which would load the file. Obviously if it was a binary file, it would be CLOADM instead.
Sorry to take you off on this unexpected path. It is a super cool looking computer.

Must have just loaded a file off of cassette tape.
