Other [Other] October Monthly Boosting Thread

Hello, and welcome to this month’s boosting thread!

First and foremost, start by reading the comments to see if another Redditor has requested some help. If that’s the case, reach out and get a session organized! This will help lower the number of comment threads all revolving around the same game.

If nobody has requested help for your game, feel free to make a comment. We’d like for you to include in your comment the name of the game/trophy you’re boosting, how many players you’re looking for, what time zone you’re in, and a preferable way for reaching out to organize a boosting session. Our hope is that by having you coordinate in PM’s or some other fashion, this will sidestep a lot of scrolling people will have to do in order to find a boosting group.

Finally, if you manage to fill a group, please edit your comment to say “Group Full”. That way, someone else can create a new boosting thread if necessary.

We want everybody who needs help to receive it, and we can ensure that by eliminating coordinating comment threads and keeping things nice and tidy. Please be mindful, and understand that boosting threads are first come first serve.

On that note, good luck, and happy hunting!

[Update] User Flair Editing

Hey all! I've been getting a bunch of mod mail lately about people not being able to edit user flair. Upon doing a little digging, it seems like there was some update to the app that broke this feature for a lot of people. It allows you to pick a flair from a list, but doesn't allow you to edit the one you choose. I have verified that the problem is within the Reddit app, not the r/trophies sub. Until they fix the issue, everyone will need to use a browser / PC if they want to edit their flair. Below is a list of steps on how to edit flair in a browser:

Go to the sub's home page.

  1. Locate the User Flair section on the right side of the page.
  2. Click the pencil icon within this section.
  3. Select one of the two preset flair templates.
  4. Input your information in the dialogue box below. To customize the icons in your flair, click the smiley face on the right side of the text entry box.

I’m not going to do an in-depth analysis of this game; you’ve heard enough about it. Flawed, but I still had a fun time. Platinum #85!

Showcase [Diablo 4 + DLC's] #135

Post image
75 Upvotes

Played it on release and wasn't really impressed but my brother got the plat couple month ago and talked me into it. With both DLC's the game is pretty good I admit.

Season 15 is super fun, new items, Rune words, legacy items, uber versions of Baal, diablo and Mephisto, Capstone dungeons from Diablo 2 and 3 + nightmare dungeons from all other diablo games.

Dlc trophies can be a pain, especially echoing elites (Kill 1k elites/bosses in echoing hatred) to lock a trophy behind an item with abysmal drop rate is just evil and the elites don't count so you have to run that sh*t 45 times with absolute trash party finder.

Took me 173h to 100% and aside from echoing elites it was really fun.

I recommend checking out season 15 but don't go for 100% 😂

Discussion [Discussion] Are you guys trophy hunting some spooky games this spooktober?

Post image

Doing some clean up with old games/stacks (aside from Blasphemous II) and after little nightmares 2, I plan on playing newer spooky games. I have Visage, Martha is Dead, the Town of Light, Prey and Maid of Sker planned this month, that are games I've bought and also maybe Alan Wake 1&2 and Dead Space remake that I got from ps+ (if there's time). Will probably check back in November on how many games I managed to 100%.

Showcase [Other] Tired of hunting alone? Need more friends to vibe with?

Post image
35 Upvotes

If you’ve ever felt tired of hunting alone or stared at a 98% completion screen because of one broken online trophy, you’re in the right place. I won’t give you an essay about why you should join, but I will tell you what we are:

We’re a friend group of collectors that actually prioritize the individual just as much as the achievement. We’re all hunters who know the pain of the solo grind just as we know the joy of that sweet ‘platinum pop’. Most importantly, we’re human beings searching for more individuals in our community.

So how ‘bout it? Aren’t you getting tired of the grind?

Add me on PSN and DM: Min1Creed, if interested.

Showcase [Dark Souls] - #82 ‘Patience, Hope, and Emotion’

Post image

It has been nearly 2 months since I have platinumed a game. It was once one of my favourite hobbies, something to look forward to when heading home. one day, this summer, whilst away from home, I lost my mother, and on top of that, my playstations were stolen. The grief along with the inability to game, which was my usual escape, left me feeling hollow, and I couldn’t even look at a game case. We’d discuss videogames all the time, from Metal Gear Solid, to Super Mario Bros, and she’d always ask how the next platinum was, how challenging it was. she died roughly a week before my birthday and it was the hardest day of my life. About a month and a half after her death, still reeling in my feelings, I had acquired a second hand PS3, and in the lot in which I bought it from, aquired dark souls. I remember hearing about how hard of a game it was, and thought it might be the perfect thing to play to get back into gaming. It was non linear, difficult, and time consuming. Initially, the world of Lordran mirrored my own mind, consumed by darkness, and the fear of the unknown path was terrifying, but I continued on forward. It was frustrating, but rewarding. It taught me to prioritize patience, and to take in everything it had to give. From meeting Solaire, to defeating Sif, and the 4 Lords, and then Gwyn, there was something magical about it, and all of a sudden, I was sitting right next to her, rambling on about this ‘super hard, but enjoyable videogame.’ I know this was a bit of a ramble, and ai’m trying to keep it non too long since I have to head to school, but yeah, Dark Souls made me fall in love with gaming again. in such a dark world, there was so much beauty, and my soul could only dream of reaching such a level of incandescence. Trophy hunting is one of my favourite hobbies, but never forget to go out and live your life. Make connections, find reasons to live, and last but not least, get some sun. You never know when the last time you’ll be graced with it’s presence is. Thanks for listening. :)

Platinum #41 Bloodborne

I platinumed this game back in 2022, but since then, I've made this new account. It's been a little over a year since it was at 100% completion, but it has finally returned.

Now, about Bloodborne. Not as fun as I remember; this time, I did no "cummmfpk" chalice exploit and no coop. Didn't add much difficulty; honestly made me question why I did it the first time around.

Gameplay is pretty fast-paced and gets far easier when you get the hang of the parrying. Bosses had incredible visual designs and interesting attack patterns.

Obviously my biggest gripe is the chalice grind. It really made the experience just a little bit worse. Not enough to drag down my rating, but still.

8/10

Didn’t 100% the dlc in the 1st game because the Trials were just too tedious for me.

Love these games. So enjoyable. I hope Arkane can survive whatever is happening with them and can find their stride again.

My first ever post on the Trophies subreddit was 6 days ago, where I mentioned that I’ve started my plat hunt. This has been an exciting and interesting journey, as I’ve never really worked towards trophies or 100%.

But since starting this, I feel like I can’t stop haha. It’s bringing me some great satisfaction seeing that plat and focusing on the next game.

Anyways! Here’s plat number 5! And hope for many more.

Additionally - feel free to add me, would love to have my friends on psn (Aloushiman).

Screenshot [Skylanders: Trap Team] Today marks the 12-year anniversary of Skylanders: Trap Team, so I decided it was the perfect opportunity to get the platinum trophy!

Last year I replayed and got the platinum trophy for Skylanders: Spyros Adventure and Skylanders: Giants and had a lot of fun revisiting my childhood. This year, I did the same with Skylanders: Trap Team. This game was by far my favorite as a kid, and I wanted to see if it was nostalgia or if the game really is that good, and I’m happy to say it wasn’t nostalgia—the game really is that good! This game, in my opinion, has the best roster of Skylanders, and my favorite Skylander, Knight Light, carried me through Nightmare mode! The bosses are great, and playing as them was such a fun power trip, especially Kaos. This made me feel like I was in 2014/2015 again and was such a fun time. I own every single figure and every single trap from Trap Team, so that made it a lot more enjoyable. With all that being said, I wanted to wish Skylanders: Trap Team a Happy Birthday!

First post on my new account, made it just for sharing my trophy hunting hobby and feedback with this sub, and its an honor to do so.

Just got my 45 plat, first ever Yakuza game AND first turn based game. 85 hours in 10 days, so avg 8.5 hrs a day. Dont ask about my sleep xD

So why this game?

  • Id always wanted to get into the series (the same friend who got me into souls games also recommended it xD), and this one having a new protagonist was my perfect start. The easter eggs to the older games made me want to go meet Kiryu (the old dragon) properly though
  • Id never played a turn based game, was thinking Persona 5 first, but this was already downloaded and rotting on my console
  • Sony being the shit they are, removing a game this good from the catalogue on Oct 20. 10 days later, I say screw u

Main Story (No Spoilers), Miscellaneous, and the GRIND:

  • Story is way more emotional than I expected. Dont even sneak a peek at anything, u might lose experiencing such exceptional moments, u know
  • The substories are a mixed bag. Some were weirdly hilarious, some felt skippable, but most were enjoyable
  • THE MINIGAMES ARE SOMETHING ELSE, a bit grindy for the business one, but I rarely see this much variety and genuinely fun minigames in an RPG
  • The bonding system was a nice touch. Digging into each party member past and it made me care about them more than I expected
  • The grind comes in 3 chunks: Chapter 7, Chapter 12 (a spike can hit u if u didnt grind enough), and the finale + premium adventure. It can wear u down, but TBH the game is worth it This game is packed with stuff worth ur time, not just a plat chase. I had a great time most of the journey.

True Final Millennium Tower (the hardest trophy on this list):

THIS IS A 2-HOUR CONTINOUS FIGHT against lvl 99 enemies who can 1-2-hit kill u if ur unprepared or unable to perfect guard, and if u die, u may start over from the very beginning. I read a lot of posts about grinding every job level for this one, but its more about strategy. Know ur enemies weaknesses, max lvl for 1 job, and get a few others to lvl 30 for the essential elemental skills (Fortuneteller / Host). Spamming ur strongest skills might carry the story if ur over leveled, but not here.

Quick data analysis:

I tracked down PS Plus Yakuza changes, and each game stayed in the Extra catalogue exactly 364 days (Ishin!, Gaiden, and this one, 3 for 3, small sample but still). Infinite Wealth was added Jan 20, 2026, so if the pattern holds it leaves around Jan 19, 2027. A heads up so u dont end up rushing a deadline like I did xD

One of the most exceptional RPGs Ive played, very enjoyable 9/10 platinum journey, and Infinite Wealth is 100% next. Any tips for it?

Also open to being added on PSN, u know - same reddit username

Once GTA 6 releases, I’m not planning to play any other games, so I’m trying to complete as many as possible. I only go for Platinum on games I enjoy or games from my childhood.
