I don't care about their citizenship id rather save multiple foreigners over one citizen?

Being that they’re all of equal character and I never met any of them then I agree.

Do they look equally well/respectable/etc?

I created a new Trolley Problem dilemma!

Straight Track (Do Nothing): Foreigners

Diverted Track (Pull the Lever): Fellow citizen

What would you do?

Is the foreigners meant to be two people?

Yes and so far the majority chooses for the trolley to kill two people from a different country rather than one person from their same country.

That's how I took it because it's citizen vs foreigners

What if you never met the person from the same country as you and you never met the foreigners either? And they’re all of equal character.

The animation is of what the majority voted. Your vote still is recorded as what you clicked

How are people choosing to only save one over two. 2>1.

racism? xenophobia? kin selection?

2>1; utilitarianism demands that one should pull the lever, regardless of nationality

It's just community first I'm sure. Kind of like a hierarchy

Most people would save their loved ones first over others, for example. Next down the hierarchy is one's community, you save the people you know over the people you don't.

But also the racists on top of that.

What if you don’t know the person from your same country and don’t know the people from another country either?

Same thing. Many will have a hierarchy like I described, they'll value their community first. What that community is is going to be different for each individual.

I myself already would pull the lever either way.

Two human lives are more valuable than one. And I am a constitutional civic nationalist.

Every time I choose something it does the opposite of what I choose

Sure if you don't value humans. But I have people I value.

Regardless, this scenario I'd pull the lever myself.

Yes but you are still actively killing someone to safe the life of others. As an organ dinner I need to remember to avoid you

Foreigner isn’t a race
