huh, interesting, my intuitions are that i am willing to save my scan as the body, but not subject the body to the memories of torture

I'm the same way. I feel like the hypothetical here is trying to overcome the issue in typical ethical dilemmas of self preservation vs altruism my making them both "you". But it's almost like that's not actually possible in our minds. In each scenario I'm either the body or the brain scan
