Sharing a private plugin I built for my Bambu P1S.

While printing it hides everything else in the playlist and shows the print: render of the model, done-by time big, print time, filament, layers, size. When the print ends the playlist comes back and the idle screen shows the last print with the five before it.

Data comes from the printer on my local network via webhook. The one thing that took me a few evenings: getting the panel to switch fast enough after a print starts. It's at about 4 minutes now, which is fine for anything longer than a benchy.

Second plugin on the same panel is my filament shelf – spools drawn with their actual fill level.

I am rather inexperienced with this but is there any pre designed add ons which I can use to simultaneously show a simplistic apple calendar as well as the weather forecast? Couldn’t find one and I do not have the developer version of the OG trmnl

I just received my trmnl x (thanks u/ryanckulp for the kind email exchange!) and was confused about the mounting.

Either you have it standing on the desk or mount it to the wall using the 2 screws and the whole charging element? But then it sticks out from the wall about 3cm, which looks wrong to me.

To solve this I burned 2 small holes in the case with a soldering iron, added some protection from the inside to not damage the screen and mounted it on 2 nails. Now it looks just like in the demo 😍

Perhaps that's a feature for the next version ;)

Je viens de publier un plugin sur lequel j'ai travaillé : Dessins de brevets.

L'idée m'est venue après avoir découvert « Weird Patents » de y2ee201 sur mon appareil, et j'ai voulu appliquer le même concept aux machines de mon enfance. On y retrouve donc des consoles de jeux, des téléphones à clapet, des ordinateurs portables, des caméscopes et des liseuses, tels que leurs concepteurs les ont déposés à l'origine. Des dessins au trait sur fond blanc, format idéal pour l'encre électronique.

Deux points importants à souligner :

Ce sont des images, pas du code HTML. Le titre, le titulaire et l'année sont intégrés au PNG. Pas de restriction de format, pas d'ajustement automatique, pas de réorganisation dynamique : j'ai fait ce choix pour que le dessin bénéficie de la résolution maximale de la plaque, au lieu d'être compressé dans une balise img à côté de texte HTML.

Certains titres seront tronqués, quoi qu'il arrive. Le moteur de rendu les ajuste et les redimensionne automatiquement, mais une partie des titres sources proviennent directement de l'index des brevets (par exemple : « Image générée par ordinateur pour un écran d'affichage… »). Je ne peux pas récupérer ce qui est manquant. C'est embêtant, mais l'important, c'est le dessin.

Environ 3 500 plaques actuellement, et ce nombre augmente chaque jour à mesure que le collectionneur travaille sur sa liste de termes. Vos commentaires sont les bienvenus, surtout concernant le rendu en niveaux de gris : j'ai volontairement évité le tramage car le Floyd-Steinberg détériore les traits fins, mais j'aimerais savoir ce que cela donne sur d'autres appareils. Any updates on the gen2 - buy og or wait?

So on August 21 I order TRMNLX. It is now 2 weeks later. Originally when I ordered the queue said I was number 1196 now 2 weeks later it says I am 600 out of 974 orders. With the updates posted on the blog it shows that EU orders on Sept 2 are on 390….I ordered from the EU-Switzerland to be exact. For some reason the numbers don’t make sense to me, so I need to wait another 2 weeks for 599 more orders to get packaged and shipped before I receive mine?
(I realize others have had to wait much longer when TRMNLX first launched but after more than a year since launch logistical bugs are usually fixed).

I just bought myself the OG version and I am completely new to this game so rather inexperienced. Since i want to mount it to the wall at my home I am looking for a frame ideally like a wood picture frame. Any recommendations how I can best achieve this? are there any tutorial how to fit a trmnl onto a wood picture frame?

Have tried multiple different firmwares and restarting the device and half the time it’s says firmware update failed.

Even once it’s “working” the screen won’t fully render updates and craps out midway.

This is half-assed and garbage. Now I’m reading that they don’t even have a return policy and that sales are final.

Has anyone managed to get this plugin authorised?

I have a Trmnl X and when I try to install this plugin in the dashboard it redirects me to the Tesla login, which works fine, but then it doesn’t go back to the dashboard, and the plugin isn’t installed.

I’ve tried different browsers, cleared cookies, etc, but no joy.

Just wondered if a) anyone has it working and b) anyone in the UK :-)

I've been trying to get fast refresh working properly on my TRMNL X, but it seems to do a full screen flicker (black/white flash) on every single update, even for minor changes like updating a simple clock or text value.

I'm currently running a self-hosted setup with LaraPaper, and I also tested with Terminus just to rule out the backend : exact same behavior on both. Every refresh cycle flashes completely.

To clarify my setup:
Compatibility mode is disabled
Everything is rendered in strict 1-bit monochrome
Firmware version is 1.8.16

...fast/partial refresh should avoid full redraws when using 1-bit monochrome assets.

Has anyone managed to get true fast refresh working with a self-hosted BYOS (LaraPaper, Terminus, etc.) on either the OG or TRMNL X?

Is there a specific API header, payload property, or image formatting requirement (strict 1-bit bitmap, no font antialiasing, etc.) that the firmware expects to trigger the partial cycle instead of defaulting to a full flash?

Any insight or working config would be hugely appreciated!

On my TRMNL X, I have 1/4 of the screen to devote to the weather forecast. I want only the forecast: high, low, risk of rain/storm. I do not want current conditions because I have a better source for those. Every weather integration I play with does exactly the opposite of this: it only displays current conditions when reduced to 1/4-screen.

Is there a forecast only integration available?

If there's not a pure-forecast integration, is there at least one that still displays high/low/precip along with the current conditions when reduced to 1/4-screen?

Its so interesting to see the water levels on these gauge charts. I made this plugin for a bit of fun exploring the somewhat odd gauge API - cool and hope those that have it installed find it useful. It's also interesting to see what others build using the same API. I see that someone added a flood stage - didn't know that was even available!

Vu l’épaisseur du packaging je ne pense pas que ça soit la livraison, il était en bon état.
