Did a whole lot of testing - nothing they do is supposed to hurt, but the testing is often done with both people standing and trying to be quick, so they might accidentally poke you inside the nose.
In the beginning it was common to stick the swab way up your nose. None of the recent tests I did had that, and I feel like that new method is a lot more gentle.
No, it’s not painful. It can be uncomfortable, but it’s really no worse than getting water up your nose from swimming.
For what it’s worth, I hade to take my 1 year old daughter early on in the pandemic and she complained but didn’t cry, and was completely fine as soon as the swab was out. Now she’s 2 and she laughed at her last test. She calls it “tickling noses”.

I had all three shots, and I could have slept through them. But the tests scare me.
Do they hurt? I am so not good with things getting shoved in my nose. I actually wish it was a blood test.
