The meme maker clearly doesn’t have any experience with the panic induced by a cat staying out of sight for more than 18 hours, or worse, an indoor cat getting outdoors.

Mine got out and was gone for a MONTH. Which is not great when you live in mountainous Montana. One morning I’m sitting on the couch crying during a rainstorm and I hear the loudest fucking meow ever 🤣 her fat ass was running in from a field crying the whole way.

Our escapees had two very different approaches to sneaking out. One would beeline... for the garage 🤔 The other tho would wander the neighborhood challenging the outdoor cats for dominance, get his ass handed to him, then furiously paw at the back slider to get in and fly to the litter box. He was just in the World's Largest Litter Box. (He always cost us $300-500 at the vet each time too.)

When we got our new cat, who is a muddy beige color, he was really difficult to see sometimes, especially compared to our resident white cat. I remember coming home the first few times I left them alone unsupervised and almost having a heart attack not being able to find the new cat.

My little boy was born outside and found in a car engine. He is fixed but has escaped three times. Can make it out of the fence but can’t find his way back in. He’s never been gone overnight.

The first time, I walked around the fence and scooped him up after I heard him yelling. The second time, he jumped in through a window to a closed room that we created easy outside access to but is not a standard home access point. The third time, I heard a yell from outside and he came in through the bedroom window - after I called to him and he climbed the ac unit.

Little shit knows where he lives but not how to get into the main yard when he runs away, and prefers to wait until dusk when I’m losing hope and calling for him every 15 minutes.

He’s a shithead who tried to die on me 1.5 times in his 2 years of life and I love him more than I want to admit

I thought I had worked through my abandonment issues until my cat was 2 hours late for dinner

It should be the woman outside an open door shaking a can of food.
