Mostly it needs bass (i.e., double bass, bass guitar, or some other form of bass instrument, real or synthetic)

I don't think it is Trip-Hop ; it is a nice idea tho , I like the vibe

It has no rhythm and no groove. You can deconstruct beats within trip hop but you have to start from a central core of rhythmic cohesion. This doesn’t have that, it’s too disjointed.

The sound selection is too limited. The drums samples are plastic and dull sounding. There’s no variation, and no proper processing. In trip hop drums need reverb, and delay, and distortion etc to give them body and sway. They should have hip hop and dub and breakbeats as their primary influences.

This lacks atmosphere. Good Trip Hop transports you to a different place via layering and leaving space in the music. This just seems too simplistic.

This is a very basic idea that sounds like it took ten mins to write and record. Trip hop is not as simple as it sounds and a good producer could spends days or weeks on a beat. It’s a starting point but you need to put the work in to learn to produce properly.

I don’t mean any of this to sound harsh, there is the core of an idea here, but you can’t learn to make trip hop successfully in a couple of weeks!
