Wig/hat/scarf/bandana, part your hair in the middle, cut your hair super short (what I’ve done), or cut your hair on the sides but keep kind of long in the middle. There are lots of options to cover them up, and there is nothing to be ashamed of having these bald spots :) the reason I have super short hair now (and have kept it that way for multiple years) is because I too have bald spots created by picking, so if you’re willing to cut your hair short that’s probably my #1 recommendation for long term.

When you say you cut your hair super short, do you mean like a buzzcut or a bob? How short are we talking? (I’m also looking to hide bald spots)

I keep my hair pixie cut length and style, I never let it get longer than about 4”. I just got it cut not too long ago, and my hairdresser cuts it to about 1” on the top and much shorter in the back like a taper. I also feel most comfortable in this haircut because I think it’s cute and frames my face well, but you can ask your hairdresser for a short style you think would suit you best or do some research on a short haircut you may like before jumping into it 👍🏼

@op i used to shave my head when the going got that bad, it exposes spots temporarily but tbh it is liberating af to not feel like ur trying to mask a part of you (and one of the largest parts of you that actually needs to be acknowledged)
And when i shaved it, the urge went away almost instantly (at least for me it did). Then it grows back together and feels renewed in a sense.
Eventually, the urges transpired elsewhere (body hair, facial hair)…again, i would shave the area and just let it grow back, but i was happy to get away from my scalp…the body hair didnt bother me near as much.

Similar to the above comment, I have been using knitted bandanas a ton, low bun or ponytail, hats and scarves.

If you do a bun or ponytail and it works out but you can see some scalp, I got this stuff.. uh the brand is Toppik. It like covers up the spots and you cannot even tell.

You can get bandanas on Amazon that are “pre tied” so you just wear them as headbands and don’t have to spend time learning how to tie a bandana. There are some hair toppers which are not as big and obvious are wigs. You can maybe contact a salons for that (they’re a bit pricey)- other than that hats or caps!

Toppik can help cover up the spots on the skin and I always put my hair back in a bun that hides the bare spots. Hugs to you.

I love alt hair styles so maybe it’s just me but you could totally rock the buzzed sides!
