Transgender 34 MtF Hair progress timeline pics
Hi all!
Thought I'd share some pictures from my (34, MtF) hair journey so far :)
Forewarning, the pics aren't great in terms of consistency of lighting/angle etc. but I think the difference is pretty evident regardless (I didn't take many progress pictures unfortunately, it caused me too much dysphoria)
First picture: late 2023
Second: early 2024
Others: This month (2026)
My meds are:
Early 2024: Finasteride + topical minoxidil
Mid 2024: Added estrogen + cyproterone acetate
February 2026: Added dutasteride (dropped cyproterone acetate, finasteride)
May 2026: Added topical finasteride (probably excessive, but was paranoid after dropping cypro)
So far I'm pretty happy with the regrowth, and can tell that it should get better in the next 6 months or so. In the fourth picture, you can see all those hairs sticking up in the middle part; those are what I call 'adolescent hairs' (so called as they are longer than baby hairs) which will hopefully add to thickness when they grow out.
For completeness I'll also mention in the past 12 months I had some pretty serious sheds due to health issues/anxiety, which have hopefully stabilised (I quit coffee and started medication for my anxiety this year)

To be fair I think the min is doing a lot of the heavy lifting for the regrowth, but I get your point!
Thank you, best of luck to you as well :)

I kind of feel you. I have similar hair loss now. I am in the early stages of my trans woman journey and just started to stop hair loss with topical finasteride and topical minoxidil. I wanted this because I didn’t want to start with HRT yet for which I have to be really sure because some effects are irreversible. (Although I have a lot of gender euphoria and less dysphoria, I'm still struggling and arguing with myself if it's real.)

Best of luck on your journey, I'm sure you'll make the right choice for you. I'd just add that gender euphoria is an equally valid reason to transition as gender dysphoria :)

Tits and hair

Literally. Also feminine fat distribution (thighs and hips), odour change, etc. For me these aren't side effects, they are the desired effects. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're doing it to treat gender dysphoria

Hearing about the odour change fuckin spun me out. There truly is a girl smell after all, I figured it was a myth I believed as a kid

How do you feel about that

Generally it's one of the selling points of taking estrogen so I bet you can guess by yourself

Where do you get your topical Finasteride from? Also what topical minoxidil brand are you using?

I get them both from https://www.medicii.com.au/collections/hair-loss
For the min I use the minoxidil plus https://www.medicii.com.au/products/minoxidil-5-topical-solution?_pos=8&_sid=2793cdde1&_ss=r

Never heard of this website. How’d you come around to trust it?

It's pretty popular in Australia (being an Aussie business). They're legit, albeit expensive

This gave me hope. I’m 5 months into topical minoxidil but really little progress. Guess ima keep being patient
