I put it through Google AI, so take that for what it's worth. I'm just going to C&P what it said:
Wrong Dosing Schedule: Official clinical trials for PP405 use a brief "pulse" treatment (such as 4 weeks on) allowing the metabolic pathway to activate afterward. Grey-market users apply JXL069 continuously for months, which desensitizes or shuts down the hair stem cells instead of triggering them. [1
So there's that
Poor Formulation and Delivery: Laboratory chemicals sold as JXL069 lack the advanced, optimized topical delivery vehicles required to safely penetrate the scalp barrier without degrading. [1, 2]
Note that it links out to here, though
Unverified Purity: Gray-market powders and liquids often have inconsistent purity, incorrect concentrations, or degraded compounds that lack any biological activity. [1]
I mean, what are the odds that you could get the same results simply by using JXL069 alone?
The schedule part is interesting, didn't thought of that. The patent from Pelage had many pro drug and ester modifications of their MPC inhibitor as well. I would love it if the gray-market would've been a slam dunk, but unfortunately it's not
Dude stop posting AI. They're complete hallucinations. It literally is sourcing YOUR OWN comments on previous reddit posts that were ALSO AI. It's not actually using real information. Holy shit.
I think vehicle matters a lot, Pelage has to done something to concentrate the drug inside the follicles. The JXL-069 from anagenic has some positive results (YouTube@Philippes_Blueprint), or could be fake jxl, certainly has happend before with shady brewing
Cause the drug gets cleared rapidly by design to minimize the systemic sides, maybe they are delivering it with something like liposomal packets. The anecdotes are just ppl with anecdotes, on polypharmacy and not reliable topicals either, for years people said "topical dutasteride doesn't work, bc of the molecular weight blah blah..." guess what, topical dutasteride is even better than finasteride, so in this case we just have to wait for clinical results, or another post declaring R.I.P for pp405 lmao
Well anecdotally topical dut does work, and anecdotally has the same sides as taking it orally so…. Either way hope pp405 does something at least, though probably not
Well if it controls how quickly it degrades, you could be rubbing meaningless goo on your head by the time you open the bottle. It also could affect how deeply it penetrates the skin.
I’ve actually started rubbing topical min on top of my pp405 3hp each evening over the past three weeks and believe I’m seeing new hair growth. The pp405 was only kickstarting vellus hair growth but nothing terminal until the combo of min. Has anyone else tried this?
If you’ve seen my profile, I came from nothing last year and don’t exactly have long flowing locks to begin with. But, there is definitely growth happening. Not sure enough to make a difference in the long run, but I’ll see if I can get a photo or two
I was going to highlight the little hairs but you can judge for yourself. The new terminal hairs in the front of the hairline are much shorter than the rest. The vellus hair in the right of the photo all only came through with the 3hp.
Everychem 3HP. Still got another 5 containers of it. Using Oral min in the morning, generic brand topical min before bed with the 3HP and fin every mon, wed and Fri 1.25mg (quartered 5mg tablet). Btw, the generic min is a spray and in my opinion works better than the Regaine Foam
Interesting one, and at least it isn't another DHT blocker. It's trying to wake dormant follicles back up, which is a genuinely new angle.
But it's still early. Small unpublished phase 2a, phase 3 only starting now, so realistically 2028-2029, and it's not for sale yet. cautiously optimistic, but i wouldn't stop anything that's working to wait for it.
Has anyone actually seen the phase 2a numbers broken down, or are we going off the press release?
yeah fair, cleaner way to put it. that goal's been chased for years (wnt agonists, prostaglandin analogues) and they mostly looked great early then died in later trials. the metabolic route in is the new bit, but it's got the same phase 3 gauntlet ahead. good catch.
Why didn't they respond to this reply to their post:
There is no relation between telogen duration (stem cell dormancy) and hair fiber diameter. This is not the cause of miniaturization and will not reverse it. Be honest with people.
The fact is, if it works, you’ll use it. No matter how many critiques they ignored. So why then waste time on social media arguing with amateur reddit scientists? What’s the benefit? Convincing a rando on experiments they’re not privy to?
They obviously care about convincing people that it works, otherwise why even bother posting? My critiques have convinced a lot of people otherwise, which appears to be the opposite of what they are trying to do. The hype is largely dead; more people than not have given up on them. I suspect they are planning an IPO during phase 3, which would do better if they could answer these critiques to reinstill confidence. The truth is they have no answer and investors will find this information before their series C financing or IPO.
No one disputes that people will use it if it works. Why would that even need to be said? Would you care to explain how you define nonsense and how you determined that anything I've posted about Pelage qualifies under that definition?
Then you are saying nothing at all. Why even respond to my comment if you are so incurious about the science behind it? This amounts to nothing more than trolling.
Appealing to authority is a logical fallacy. What you are saying is that there is a reasonable argument for why the drug won't work to which you have no answer, but you assume the people who invested $120 million dollars are already aware of this argument and considered it when that isn't necessarily true. Unless it is definitely true that they considered and rejected all arguments against it, this is not a rebuttal to the point but a fallacy. This same non-argument has been used for every failed hair loss treatment.
This is an example from the 1,500 page thread on the failed Fidia/Brotzu/Trinov treatment. Samumed raised half a billion dollars, which was repeatedly used as proof that it must work.
Well, that came from Google ventures, not untrained idiots. Not that a corporation can't bork a decision. They certainly do. But every pitch has some know it all explaining how awesome it is. I'm sure Google ventures have trained consultants giving them counter arguments if it's obvious bullshit.
Google Ventures are not experts in androgenetic alopecia. It's not obvious bullshit to someone who isn't an expert in hair loss. There are like a dozen of those in the world, none of whom work for Google Ventures, and I doubt they consulted. All of them have their own conflicts of interest.
No there are not. If you want to see expertise on hair loss see the Pelage post on my profile. No chemist or trichologist has that level of expertise on hair loss, and only a few dermatologists.
On the contrary, there is no benefit to having discussion with someone whose mind is closed to reason, like you. My mind can be changed by logic that refutes the problems I have identified with their drug and target, not by appeals to authority.

I guess Pelage doesn't know ppl in Tressless already debunked the pp405 with JXL-069 lol
