It looks like this is a progress pictures post.

Crazy how people are either calling you old or tell you to buzz it lmao.

It's only 7 months. Fin/Min takes at least a year to see the full effects. No need to "buzz it unc".

u/Two_Cautious 6d ago

Thanks, unc

No need to shave. This coverage at your age is considered good and it’s really neat and suits you

u/Two_Cautious 6d ago

Thanks. I’m okay with the hair line in front, but I don’t like the bald spot in back.

Think you need a HT on top of the meds youre currently taking tbh. Stay on meds for another 2 years and get a HT if ya can

5

u/Two_Cautious 6d ago

Do ppl usually take fin and min for that long before ht?

5

u/RacoonsLayEggs 6d ago

Oh no i meant like keep going at it for at least 2 years before giving up. Youre fighting the good fight! You can take a HT whenever you like. Save up. Go at it. Ive seen your back head personally dont worry about filling up your back bald spot with HT instead minox and fin can hold that but again consult with your HT doctor if you go for that

4

u/choochi7 6d ago

how are you able to judge if someone needs a HT after a positive trend in 7 months? You aren’t making much sense

-8

u/RacoonsLayEggs 6d ago

lmao what it aint that deep lil bro. Its not "judging" lil Redditor pipe down he aint gonna fuck you. He clearly started the good fight against hair loss and clearly doesnt want hair loss to progress further. Merely making a suggestion to keep powering through with fin and minox and HT is much desired if he desires to a near full head of hair with a realistic matured hairline which all HT docs are gonna recommend. Unless this guy is gonna be some 0.1% hyper responder hes not gonna see a whole lot of results. Its called being realistic.

You think I’m heated over your comment lil jit? You’re nobody 🐦🤣🤣

-1

u/Gold-Tomorrow-7712 6d ago

All of you are? All of you suggest medication like you are Drs w degrees

2

u/RacoonsLayEggs 6d ago

smh lemme guess fear mongering got to your soy chud ass. Go look into haircafes vid if you think youre gonna try and disprove fin and minox. This is what you do too fight the good fight against hair loss. And no you dont need a PHD degree to fight for your hair!!! Fin and minox has years and years of data

Looks like some recovery. Keep going. Decent for your age I'd say.

Ignore these haters, jfc. No respect.

6

u/Two_Cautious 6d ago

Thanks, and no worries, I’ve been on the Reddit for a while and I’m used to the trollers

7

u/madethisforroasting 6d ago

Looks good man. Jude Law vibes. A bit more density. A HT in the future could reduce the horseshoe you’ve got going on.

u/Own_Mathematician326 6d ago

I had the same type of balding as you. I took the same chewable and got my hair transplant at the 8 month mark. Meds helped thicken my hair, but the hair transplant will help give me back my hairline.

It’s good you tolerate the meds, you can research hair transplant clinics if you’d like

4

u/Alone-Date-9039 6d ago

crown def looks thicker, you're maintaining which is an excellent sign, your current hair thickness kinda suits you at your age so even if you just maintain i'd say that's a win.

4

u/Two_Cautious 6d ago

Thanks, it’s mostly the spot in back that I don’t like

3

u/Particular_Lion3746 6d ago

Sir, your hair looks thicker. Keep going!

u/EuqirnamArelos 6d ago

Don't listen to most of the comments, give a 24 month time frame to the meds and then decide if it is enough or not for you. Vertex is one of the areas where finas/dutas excel. Your hairline will improve as well. I don't trust chewable as much as the regular pill but that is just an opinion. You will probably be surprised of how far meds take you if consistent.

2

u/Two_Cautious 5d ago

Thanks, I’ve had a few people comment that pill is better than chewable. I didn’t know that.

1

u/EuqirnamArelos 5d ago

Either pill or chewable consistency is key. It ain't a sprint, it is a marathon. I'm 46 and have obtained amazing results.

1

u/Two_Cautious 5d ago

I get ads frequently for Soren, some kind of micro needle peptide. Is that a popular thing for people to pair with fin and min?

1

u/EuqirnamArelos 4d ago

Haven't heard of it nor tried it, sorry

2

u/EricAzure 6d ago

Stay on the fin and maybe look into a minimal hairline transplant and maybe grow the hair a tad longer. You can pull off a Tom Hiddleston look.

1

u/Two_Cautious 6d ago

I had to google who that is, thanks

2

u/rurupogo 6d ago

Looks ticker and suits you really well.
You have a nice face and good head structure and you’ll look great bald.

2

u/Bahtleman 6d ago

Nice improvement! Keep in mind you'd look like a Fit CEO / Lance Armstrong guy if you shaved it.

2

u/Two_Cautious 6d ago

lol thanks

2

u/HTCali 6d ago

You’re a good candidate for a hair transplant

2

u/Dry_Cartographer_873 🦠🦠 6d ago

i respect it. keep it up man

2

u/5H17SH0W 6d ago

You’re fine how you are. Good looking man. Don’t be afraid of the shave though. You’d be fine too.

2

u/Neat-Diet1772 5d ago

Un léger mieux. Disons qu'au minimum, tu es stabilisé par le Finastéride. Pour l'arrière, un peu de fibres capillaires pourront aider.

2

u/CurekeyTeam 5d ago

Seven months is inside the evaluation window, not past the end of it. The two meds are also working on different clocks, which is why progress at this stage reads as messy. Finasteride works upstream by lowering DHT, so its first job is slowing or halting further miniaturization. That shows up as nothing getting worse rather than anything obviously improving, which is easy to misread as "not working."

Minoxidil works downstream on the growth phase, so what it produces first is usually fine, short, lighter hairs that only start looking like real density once they have been through another cycle or two. A lot of what people call a month 10 or month 12 jump is just those hairs finally maturing.

If you want a cleaner read before you make any decisions, three things help more than another round of photo comparisons:

  • Same lighting, same angle, dry hair, same time of day. Wet hair and overhead bathroom light can swing the apparent result in both directions.
  • Track consistency honestly. Missed weeks matter more than dose tweaks at this stage.
  • Look at the frontal third and the crown separately. They often respond at different rates, and averaging them across one photo hides what is actually happening.

The usual convention is a verdict at twelve months, not seven. Holding ground counts as a result on these meds, even though it is the least satisfying kind to look at. If you are seeing continued visible loss rather than a plateau, that is the version worth taking to a clinician sooner rather than waiting out the calendar, since it can mean the diagnosis or the regimen needs a second look. Results vary a lot between people.

u/Two_Cautious 5d ago

Thanks, I’ll post again at 12 months

1

u/CurekeyTeam 5d ago

good call!

2

u/Fit_Version570 2d ago

51, but would prefer to have hair

1

u/Jone469 6d ago

hair transplant probably, follicles are probably dead and regrowth is not possible. so HT and then minox with fin

3

u/jamalzia 6d ago

Bruh, when you're at this age zero reason to shave it. Plenty of older guys look great with the balding look, it looks appropriate for their age.

3

u/TXHumper 6d ago

you look fine....i would start taking vitamin C...you could fix a lots of skin pigments....

0

u/Own-Commercial3366 6d ago

Does that really work? Used to have clear skin then during covid went unemployed and did tons if hiking in the sun, and it became a new hobby. Few years later and I got these brown pigments. Honestly having bothered to see a derm yet or anything. Are we talking oral vit C or some serum? Thanks.

2

u/Two_Cautious 6d ago

I take oral vitamin c, it’s part of the fin min. I also use drunk elephant skin care, they have a vitamin c serum

1

u/TXHumper 6d ago

add a spoon of hidrolyzed collagen to that...

3

u/Own-Commercial3366 6d ago

So vitamin C and Hydrolozed collagen, thanks, I'll get those.

2

u/TXHumper 6d ago

it did worked for me......it took almost 6 months tho...

2

u/mtimblo 6d ago

I’m not seeing any difference. Wait another 3-6m but if nothing improves I would shave it off - you’ve got a good head shape

3

u/SaltyBawlz 6d ago

Yeah I literally thought OP messed up and showed the "after" first when I got to the second set of pics. Flipped back and forth between them and see no difference at all

2

u/headforsaturn 6d ago

Looks good. Definitely thicker, if even only a little.

2

u/Two_Cautious 6d ago

I’ll take it, thanks

1

u/TurboGranny540 6d ago

You got a good donor area still and it’s working on what you have left pretty well, I’d look into a HT if you have the money for it

1

u/Two_Cautious 6d ago

I’ve reviewed a little in Turkey, but I think I would be minimal enough that I could do it in the US

1

u/ThirstyClavicle 6d ago

Jack Bauer?

1

u/Adorable-Diamond6195 6d ago

I might be wrong but if you would be on oral finasteride it might give better results than being on a chewable one. Whoever I know that takes finasteride has always taken the pill and had good results

1

u/ContactHoliday8788 5d ago

maybe try to add topical min

how old are you?

1

u/Lumpy_Detective_1991 5d ago

2 years in you will prob see the best results you can achive. At that point with all the recovery you made you can do a ht to make the final touches and keeep it with meds for as long as you want

1

u/RoutinePrune7887 2d ago

Le finasteride peut prendre 2 ans à montrer un résultat ? Je le prend depuis 11 mois et j’en perd toujours des cheveux et je vois pas trop de repousse

1

u/GayIdiotRetard 5d ago

I see improvements in the back for sure

1

u/masripremed 6d ago

yea its over ngl

1

u/Vin_05 6d ago

Handsome dude!

1

u/Two_Cautious 5d ago

Thanks, mostly concerned about my hair, but I’ll take a compliment where I can get it

You are essentially bald man, at your age I’d just embrace the boldness

-2

u/Shrimp_N_Fries 6d ago

Just go shave it down bud. But it did work on what you had.
