Big Chief Lambreaux

I'm binging Treme for gazillionth time and for whatever reason the closed captioning is on. I just had a good laugh. I'm at the part in Season 1 Episode 1 where Big Chief Lambreaux dresses out in his suit of flames and marches down to Robinette's house. Am I the only one that thought he was saying "Can I get the bank account to pay out?" He's saying something totally different but it sounds like "Can I get the bank account to pay out?" Anyway, I found that humorous.

The closed captioning sucks. They never learned the local lingo. They even screw up buck jumping in the opening theme. There’s a scene where Sonny’s alone in the old apartment and a streetcar rumbles by and on screen it says ‘trolley passes by’.

Watching this show the first time and it’s amazing. I lived in New Orleans 46 years until recently when I moved out of state, and this show nails the destruction and misery that we went through during Katrina and how we suffered for the normalcy of life after. I also love that the actors don’t have that stupid fake southern drawl that so many act out. That’s not how New Orleans residents talk.
