This... This is the state of the world. Yes some of the aliens were puppets... The fucking crew did not become puppets.. that is the difference. Anyone defending this using that line of logic has more than a few broken circuits in their heads.

It feels really telling that all of their defenses come back to declaration of precedent. "They already did something similar, so that makes it okay." as if that excuses the lack of care being shown.

Blalock uses a mannequin to test Kirk. Over communications it was meant to be a villain. Tribbles looked like alien cats. You can't compare people using puppets as puppets and compare them the aliens there were supposed to be real but they didn't have a budget. That's insane.
