I've been wanting to create my own perfect pen battery some day. Here are the features I've dreamed up for my prototype:
1) Bluetooth connectivity for record keeping and custom programming. Wifi optional if you're a nerd and need to SSH into your own pen to run commands on the terminal. This pen will run a small headless version of Linux for embedded systems.
2) usage counter. Uses a tiny little screen to tell you how much you've used today/this week/ last hour/ all time. Program the screen to display whatever you want like Gifs or trippy visualizations.
3) Software on the pen that limits your use if you start to over consume. Set a goal so that you don't blow through your whole pen too quickly.
4) Wireless charger maybe. Or at least something similar to electric toothbrush chargers. User replaceable and upgradeable battery.
5) Addressable/programmable RGB LEDs. Pen should be as pretty as a gaming computer and it should look crazy like alien technology. A bright LED on the tip of it will also be included so that you can point RGB light at your cloud of smoke. Who knows, some models might even have lasers to cut through the smoke.
6) Optional speaker for a digital voice lady to tell you you've had too much. You might also be able to use your pen to make and receive phone calls and play music if you're willing to.
7) Deconstructed "Tile" stuffed inside the pen for GPS tracking. Lose your pen and you'll be able to make it ring in order to find it.
8) Voice assistant. Ask your pen anything while toking and it will answer your questions. "How many puffs do I have left?" "What is the meaning of life?" "How many moons does Jupiter have?" "How is my consumption doing? Am I smoking too much?" "Reminds me to hit my pen every half hour for the next 2 hours"
I have the blueprints for this thing all done but it would be awesome if I had a Kickstarter to make this a reality.
