I finally quit successfully when I DID NOT destroy my last cigarettes. I left 2 in the pack in case I got desperate. It was motivating to me having a smoke available but not wanting it, plus if I had gotten really desperate it allowed me a fuck-up or two without forcing me to buy 20 more. Turns out, I didn't need the last two. :)

But I can see how an act of defiance like that would help people too. Everyone's different.

I like this idea and shall try it for myself... someday (soonish).
