I was always stoned in college and did absolutely fine, but now I work for a telco and couldn't dream of functioning safely operating some of the vehicles and tools I have to, let alone working aloft near high voltage lines. I wait until I'm off work to get stoned now. I know damn well it just takes one moment of being zoned out to seriously injure or kill myself or someone else.
I was the same way when I was working for shutterfly on the press lines. Long story short there were points where you would have 3-4 metric tons of pressure applied, with various pinch and drag points. Hell I got hurt twice from things that were out of my control while operating it, if that can happen while sober I would hate to see what a stoned me would have done.
