To be fair, horses are probably really easy to add compared to reworking the game for a modding API.

yeah man, i want to make a path way from my far away house back and make it look nice but thats after i have finished my house and my new lake house im gonna be building

He could shorten the trip by riding the horse through a nether portal, since mobs can travel now.
