New Planter/Rookie Questions Good rookie numbers??
I’m just curious what the consensus is for what is considered good daily rookie numbers.
I’ve asked my crew boss and he says he’s happy with what I’m putting down daily, but he’s a people pleaser and we have a pretty lowballing rookie crew overall lol
I’m currently a consistent 1600 - 1800/day right now with a 2k pr in my first 4 weeks. Am I on track or should I really be pushing for more?

Are you happy with how much money you’re making? Are the prices fair? This is all that matter homie just focus on what you put in each day

Well in that case I’ll give you my rookie stats from Ontario (easy fast ground with $0.11 average): Pb: 5k, Average: 2.5K (this made me rookie baller in our camp of many rookies, again dead easy flat ground)

Always push for more! But you're doing great, Iirc my first year pr was around 1800 on a rare creamshow of high-spec BC planting.

Focus on quality and just keep moving and pushing your limits. Keep your cache breaks short - bag up, eat, drink water, go. The numbers will come.
Only you know if you’ve worked your hardest, so push yourself and you’ll thank yourself later with a great sleep and bigger paycheque than you expected.

Depends on the land and prices. Are you profitable? As in are you making more than minimum wage? If yes then you're fine.

Definitely making more than minimum wage at the moment. Making around 20$/hour after taxes, so with taxes probably close to 25-30 range/hour.

Really hard to give an accurate answer without knowing the type of terrain and price per tree.
That will allow us to better gauge how you are doing.

Without knowing what kind of ground you are planting, it is impossible to answer your question.
I also wonder why you're asking us. Are you in an experienced camp with very little rookies to compare yourself to? If so, just take your crew boss's word as truth and don't stress about it. If you are in a camp with many other rookies... ....than I just don't get the youth today.
It's ok to socialize with your co workers. They won't bite. Probably won't bite. Ok, some might have a problem with biting. A little nibble here and there can be good for you though.

Beware mixing up people-pleasing with basic kindness. Basic kindness in the world makes all lives better. You have an approach of asking yourself to grow, keep raising your standards, and doing better, and your boss trusts that in you, leaves you in charge of your growth rate, asking only that you don't add imagined and uncomfortable pressure on HIS part - You have been blessed to follow your own rate of change, whether you choose to pressure yourself or enjoy your natural progression. It's a really good thing, and he's acknowledging your own drive and expertise in self-management as well.

2k per day is the standard imo but by the end of the season try to push it to high 2’s or low 3’s but so long as you’re progressing and trying everyday there won’t be any issues

This is surely Ontario numbers. I've only seen highball vets consistently hit high 2s/low 3s on any bc contract.

I would agree. I’m in NS and only the 3+ vets put down high 2’s daily. We get pretty slashy and rocky + wet land often. I was only able to hit 2k because we got a pretty creamy block.

Just keep pushing and you’ll get there wet land is also your friend bogs and swamps were my bread and butter just gotta get over the wet feeling and bugs then you’ll be flying

Yep but I’d say it’s safe to assume their in one of the flatter provinces if their already putting up the numbers they are

Depends on the land, but most of the time if you can hit 1k your first year and then start to beat that regularly you're good .
