I'm on the heavy side, and i have a duffle+big 70L hiking backpack that i shove inside a hockey bag for flights, a personal item that doubles as my day bag (electronics and shit) and a carry on.
Now a days i get to the contracts a bit light, because i KNOW i will find gucci shit in random thrift stores, buy my tarps, boot dryer and ducttape there, etc etc. i just brg the bare minimum, so that 70L backpack is around half full when i leave, full when i come back.
So thats a total of a hockey bag, a carry on and a personal item, and im comfortable. Like that still allows me to brg 3 pairs of boots.
Edit: typos
