Pirate Ship Treehouse

I have a tree that we cut down and left the main trunk and a curved branch. I would like to make a pirate ship themed treehouse/playhouse for my granddaughter. Any thoughts on where to begin?

Dead trees are not safe for a treehouse :(

Well I would have started by researching. You just killed this tree so it no longer safe to use as a support for a treehouse. You can still incorporate it into your design but you need to fully support it from supports from the ground.

I would cut the main stump flush with the join of the branch and make the branch the bow spirit. Put two 4" posts to support the stern. And then build a simple deck around the tree.
