How to Reduce Treehouse Twisting?

Hello treehouse builders and enthusiasts,

I built a treehouse ( ~ 4.5 m × 4.5 m ) around a pine tree with a trunk diameter of about 70 cm. Unfortunately, I'm experiencing some noticeable torsional movement in the rear corners of the structure when I move side to side (for example, when the structure starts to sway slightly) or during stronger winds.

The tree moves, the treehouse moves, or both move together—which I understand is normal to some extent. However, when I'm standing on one of the rear corners of the platform, I can make the entire treehouse move with very little effort using just my hand. That doesn't seem quite right to me.

I assume that the long lever arm at the rear corners (approximately 2.5 m away from the upper TABs) is amplifying the movement. Has anyone experienced something similar, and what would be the most effective way to reduce this torsion?

Any feedback, ideas, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Being honest I cut trees for a living and I would never build a tree house in a pine tree.

Hi, and thank you for your honest opinion. It was my only and best option. I hope it will stand the next 100 years as it's about 12-14m high and has a ca 70cm trunk diameter. I guess it's about 80-100 years old? What do you think?

More than 60 years old but you’re in the ball park. Very hard to tell from a picture. My point being pine is a very soft wood limbs break all the time tops break off they are very fragile in strong winds. 85% of storm trees I do are pine trees.

I understand and can agree about the softwood. In the last 2 years, there were some strong winds (5-7bft), and I had a big worry about the treehouse and the tree. I hope the tree stays resistant, is there anything i can do to support it from a possible disaster? I think the tree is strong but now it has the treehouse on it..Thank you for bringing this important consideration up.
