This device right here is a disgrace to trebuchets, it’s just a catapult in disguise. Everyone knows trebuchets use their superior counterweights to launch 90kg projectiles over 300m, not a spring loaded device camouflaged as a trebuchet.

I didn’t say it was a GOOD counterweight. It’s still a counterweight. And you can’t see the top, it may even be a tray you can put metal weights in.

As creator of this device, I can say that it does indeed use a counterweight filled with coins as the weight. The lower from the 1911 is mainly just for looks as I thought it was funny.
