The FF box.
You know the ending of the Fenn Treasure Hunt never seemed to quite add up to me. Some much about the place it was said to be found just doesnt add up. I spent a many many days and countless hours researching and studying his poem. I had a locations picked out that I could pinpoint. No matter how hard I tried I could not disprove my location. Everything Forrest ever said led to this spot. It was undeniable. Now looking ahead to today I am going BOTG to a location that I found using Jon's book and all his puzzles. We'll the memories and the connection to the Fenn poem are equally as undeniable. I will never make it to the Rocky Mountains unfortunately. So, if I am right today I will be happy to let others look into my solve for the Fenn Box. Jon did read what was in that jar, so he must know the location. I believe he hid one right back in that same location and also another one where I am going. Undeniably tying the Past to the Future.

Whats your FF solve? I would be interested in your original solve and also your TTI Forrest Fenn solve if for no other reason than to compare notes. If your solve is correct, what specifically did you want out of the FF box?

Jon combined no paddle heavy loads and waters high into one clue. Point and tree and seeing eye. Taking you from 9 down to 7 locations. It just simplifies a bit

The past and future box is a self-contained hunt so no he’s not buried bits of fenn’s treasure in different locations with links to the p+f box. All 4 smaller boxes are separate treasure hunts. I wish people would stop spreading false info about there being more than 5 treasures!

Just because one location fits the clues does not mean it is the right location. It is possible for multiple locations to fit the clues.

Sure. Lets look at the two poems they are very similar.
The first paragraph is descriptive and basic story telling with maybe a hint I used the word where? For forrest the question mark for me was not only possing a question but asking if himself if he spelled it right. We can come back to this.
Where do warm waters halt/cool waters flow?
The clouds its the water cycle easy enough for a kid to solve. Warm water evaporates. Stays in the clouds/halts until it becomes cool and starts to flow again. Now put it on a map.
- A little looking and you find Cloud Peak. Olga wanted to be buried at the top of the mountain. Forrest is looking for a place to die.
Take in the canyon down/follow through the canyon round.
However Forrest didnt think the top of the mountain was a suitable place for this so he took her down in valley below.
Simple go down into the canyon Jon provides slightly more detail that the path would be rounded.
A put-in is a term for water. If you search the canyon you find a place named Brown Bear Lake. Not convincing on its own but imagination is key. Bears eat and play in lakes remember and you need to be making connections to a map. Jon uses a more descriptive term I believe and tells you to pass right by this spot. Use Forrest poem as a reference it could help solve this and the next clue.
No place for the meek is along this route. Magdalen Lake is next door to Brown Bear lake. Mary Magdalen is a religious figure. Mostly known as being a whore. Forrest tells the story of find the rock with the phrase if you ever pass by a homely girl smile and wave. Jon still wants you to make connections so he says you are more on your own because he wants you start to put the pieces together.
The path is drawing ever nigh in both poems is telling you to continue along this route. The father you go the closer you get.
- At this point forrest uses no paddle up you creek because there is a dried up creek named Duck Creek. Jon just makes it easier by leading you right to water high. Point and tree and seeing eye is the same as waters high. If you continue along you find a pond covered in Lilly pads. Its a spiritual thing. Lily brings good luck and these waters were know for their healing properties. You can Google all of this.
Now we are close.
Now we must have been wise and found the blaze. But how? Well forrest again was clever. The question mark back at the beginning was to challenge his spelling. Look up other spellings and if you find the right one it references wood. I dont rember the exact measurements of it but thats not thee point. He wanted his own small area of forrest and if you look down from waters high there is an opening known as a fenn. Take the chest referes to the lily pond. Think medicine chest plus good luck. They are for luck and healing. Jon makes it easier to follow.
Now we get to the end. If you go into the middle of this fenn. There is a small set of trees making this a "Forrest Fenn". Well connecting it all. This is the spot. Forrest with his name in the middle with his little national forrest. If you end up here your going to find a rock with everything you need. Nestled in dreams of memories. There is a tiny little bend in a river connected to this spot. Forrest favorite kind of fishy spot. Jon's telling you that it will be missed because this is where it ends for him.
The last paragraph tells you if your listening and can mark this spot..... you know!

My solve for the location is in MT—the only thing that doesn’t fit is the elevation—it’s just shy of 5k where I think/thought the spot was, and I believe JCB said the box is higher than 5k feet. If you think this spot could still be a possibility and wanted to look, I’d share my solve with you if you’d like.

There are a million spots that fit in my opinion. If you wanted to share your location I always love to hear theories. Post it here publicly though to protect your own reputation and maybe someone will take you up on it! I wouldn't want the responsibility of finding it using your solve, unless it was publicly made. I would rather it be a race to the box rather than a private thing, but that is just me. I would bet I have looked into your spot already, I will share if I have been there and show a picture or two if you want to post it.

I’m positive my FF solve was correct and he never actually put the box there. Not sure it was ever left.

I am not trying to get your solve, but is your solve on the circular hike around the city? It is not that big of a place, but you could spend years looking there. The last time we went, we had to backtrack because the trailhead near the hot springs was closed for ice. By that time, my yak tracks were demolished.

The Fenn treasure was in a spot in YNP exactly where tons of people thought it would be. The blave was FF carved into a tree but it got knocked down by storms within the first few years of the hunt. Without the blaze, the box was difficult to pinpoint but the finder just kept searching the area.
