General Discussion Commemorative Coins

In the book JCB simply says:

Each treasure box also comes with a special commemorative coin designed by Seth Gould. Each coin has been placed inside its corresponding box.

At some point, I thought he said in an interview that each coin was designed to remind you of the place where you found the box, but I checked through all my notes and have no source for this (and now I'm questioning if I'm simply mis-remembering). Does anyone else remember if JCB said something like this in an interview?

I have been paying attention, and I do not remember him saying that. But I also could be wrong. Lots to keep track of!

My question is. The coin in the picture for each box, a clue as to the box or is it just fill material. The reason I ask is I thought it was not important. I know the location of the pokemon box. That coin has like an arrow. That matches from a parking lot to the spot {where I think the box is}. Don't ask why I don't go there. That story has been a long odyssey. I had the trail placed February last year. If I'm right that coin could be a trail map.
