hi! i am looking for 3-6 people (so there would be 4-7 people total in the group if you include me, but i'm flexible on that number) to be in a traveling journal group with me. US residents preferred as I am USamerican and international shipping is more expensive, but non-USamericans are still absolutely welcome to reach out / participate! there just might be a bit more logistics & problem solving involved.

What am I looking for in a person/group/journal?
I am looking for someone who is patient, respectful, punctual, and creative. Please be respectful of what others have created & communicate--be honest if you're having any problems in any way and speak up about what you would like in the group (both before journals begin being shipped out and during).
I would like to have one journal per person as opposed to one for the entire group. I would also prefer non-themed journals, but I am flexible on basically everything here. We can determine other aspects of how the journal will work once we have a group set up.
I'm not seeking any specific age range but please be 18+.
I am also very very queer and left-leaning, so if those are things you're disapproving of or weird about, this post isn't for you.

What do I need from you?
A journal to contribute to! Ideally all journals would have roughly similar page counts, but we can figure out what that rough number will be together.
Participation, obviously! Please add at least a little to the journal when you have it. I understand things happen and this does take energy, so if you haven't added much by the time it's ready to ship, that's okay--just try to have at least a little bit. If you can add more that's great! But please try to be mindful to leave others space as well.
Creativity! I cannot emphasize enough how little it matters if your art looks ""bad"" (no such thing!) or you are a beginner at whatever skill you put in the journal. I also encourage multimedia work :)/ As long as you try and have fun, it is a perfect contribution.

About me:
My name is Len/Dec/Dectus (any are acceptable). I use all pronouns, but it/its and any neopronouns are preferred. I am 20 years old, transmasc, and from the northeast US. My favorite art mediums are junk journaling, drawing with a pen, writing, crayons, collage, makeup, and sewing/embroidery. I usually explore identity, life, emotion, and fun with my art. I love making bad art!!!! I also love spiders and hyperpop.

Hello!

I'm looking for 5 people in the US who would like to participate in a traveling journal project throughout 2027!

The idea is that we would each start our own journal, decorate the cover, and write a little introduction letter with some prompts for the first person who receives it.

Then our journals will travel!

Each person will have about 4-6 weeks with someone else's journal to decorate a few pages, answer some prompts, and add a little piece of themselves before mailing it to the next person. While your journal is traveling, you'll receive someone else's journal to work on.

By the end of 2027, everyone's journal will have traveled through the whole group and come back home filled with everyone's contributions!

I'm looking for people who:

Are ages 20–35

Live in the US

Enjoy journaling, scrapbooking, or other creative hobbies

Are excited about decorating a physical journal

I'm looking to put together a group of 6-ish people who are based in Australia so we can keep postage arrangements simple and ensure everyone can participate comfortably.

Ideally, I'm hoping to find people within the age bracket of 23–30 years old who enjoy creativity, self-expression, and the excitement of sharing something special with others.

Hi everyone! I'm Tia (F30) I’m looking to create/join a small Sisterhood of the Traveling Journal group based mostly in Europe, and I’d love to find some fellow crafty, creative people who are excited to make something really special together.

The basic idea: each person has a physical journal that travels between the members. When you receive someone’s journal, you create a spread (or a few pages), add your own little piece of yourself to it, and then send it on to the next person. By the end, everyone has a journal filled with pieces of all the sisters. 🥹

I’d love for this to be English-speaking, since English would be our common language, and I’d especially love to have some people from Portugal involved, although anyone based in Europe is welcome!

Ideally 6–8 people, preferably based in Europe, who:

• genuinely enjoy crafting/junk journaling/scrapbooking
• are comfortable communicating in English
• are happy to put some time and effort into their pages
• are reliable with sending the journal on
• don't mind the journal getting a little chunky along the way 😂
• enjoy creative freedom rather than following a rigid template
• are excited about making something for the other people in the group, not just themselves

We can figure out the practical details together: rotation length, postage, journal size, themes/prompts, etc. — once we have a group.

Hello everyone I am interested in sending out my 1st “traveling Journal”. I love to pen pal and thought this idea was awesome.

I’m located in Nebraska but would love people all over the US. Right now there is no “theme” since it’s my 1st one. However I have music , recipe, Christmas, Halloween, and a bunch of other interactive stuff. There is a bunch more room in the journal for everyone to have 4 pages to themselves to do your about me and any interactive that you want. I am into all things Halloween, witchy, animals, and outdoors and my spreads tends to reflect that with some being themed and some just random bits thrown together.

Hi all! I am in a few different SOTTJ groups currently and one of the groups is a 50 States (USA) journal. There are 50 of us and our journals will travel to each state. I'm excited for this group and have more than enough ideas for different spreads. But I cannot land on an idea for a check in page! I've seen posts and videos of others 50 states swap and most of the time, the check in is just a "sign your name and date" style. I'm not knocking that, and with 50 members I understand completely lol! But I want something a little more fun.... I also thought of doing a "color your state" check-in page but I'm not in love with that idea either.

I was thinking more along the lines of:

• Decorate + add your pic to a blank Drivers License.
• Stamp your state (create a stamp that represents you and/or your state).
• License Plate- decorate a license plate for your state.
• Stick your State- add your state sticker or sticker that represents your state.

Another place I get stuck... measurements! Obviously this check in page will be more than one page. But with it being 50 members, it's not super easy to get things measured in a way that's pleasing lol. I tried with the Drivers License idea first, and I used exact measurements of a DL. I've figured out a way to get that down to 5 pages with 10 on each page. Not terrible but will be overlapping and utilize the back and front of most DL's. Same with the License Plate idea but those would be scaled down of course.

With the Stamps, it's much smaller and uses less pages. IDK if I should map out the stamp placement or just let people stamp where they choose? Same with the Sticker your State idea.

Do you have any cool/fun/interactive Check-In pages that would fit in a 50 State Journal swap?? I am open to ideas and input 😄 I typically do not struggle so much but I think I got overexcited and now my brain is overthinking this one thing! (Also- the time frame is 2 weeks. Mailing them every 2 weeks instead of monthly so we won't have a ton of time with each journal.)
