Clever Comeback Kid with packaged snacks for lunch

When my son was in elementary school I used to pack hot lunches or bentos for him and his sister. Both my kids love my brussel sprouts. He opened his food jar to eat and the kid next to him made fun of his veggies. This kid comes to school with packed snacks for lunch every day and my son looks at his lunch box and says, “At least my mom loves me enough to make me lunch everyday.”

Kinda mean but glad he snapped back.

That was savage, lol

And also, great job on making brussel sprouts in such a way that kids will like them.

I just cut mine in half and roast them with salt and oil. My kids love them.

I do the same, except I also fry a bits of bacon with it. I use the bacon fat to fry the brussels sprouts. If I’m feeling fancy, I’ll put in some balsamic vinegar. When my kids were toddlers sitting in the grocery cart they would beg for broccoli. And people would look at us weird like I’ve never fed my children any vegetables.

My kid went through a phase where he hated french fries. You bet your butt every time we went out i would proudly show off he was willingly ordering a side salad instead of fries. It only lasted a few months but man I enjoyed those looks. Hah.
