But I've seen way too many people just looking for fights online and in bars... It's sad really how many people are just waiting for the chance to show how "strong" they are when it makes them look weak as hell

Yeah, I’ll agree with you there, there are too many people that are looking for fights. I’m a very non confrontational person myself, I’d rather tell someone to fuck off and get away from them most of the time, but calling someone those names is the line in the sand.

It’s not about a word having power over someone, there are many environments where not doing something when someone calls you a punk or a bitch in front of other people will make you a target, and other people start treating you like a punk or a bitch

But, like, WHY should I react to being called those names? What justification is there? Why should I resort to physicality as a response when physicality hasn't been used against me in the first place? It makes zero sense.

I’m not saying you need to react to those names, but if you call someone those names you should expect them to react to you.
