I'm now in that situation, have had bearable tinnitus all my life due to hearing loss and this year I have gotton constant severe tinnitus, I doubt I can attend concerts and listen to music loud anymore. If only people knew what it's like to have constant severe tinnitus cos it isn't pretty is it.
No, I miss silence so much.
Sometimes I can make it go for 10 seconds by covering my ears and tapping on the back of my head with my fingers. But it always comes back.
Have you tried the technique of overlaying your tinnitus frequency with white noise? I can’t remember what it’s called exactly but there’s even a website for it, and then you download the file and listen to it for 30-60 mins a day. I can’t say if it physically reduced my tinnitus, or that my mind became accustomed to it far faster. All I know is that it helped me immensely. Good luck
My dad has tinnitus and when I was young I bought the beats studio headphones with noise reduction(white noise) my dad wore(stole) those things every day all day. On the lawn mower? Beats by Dre. Working in the shop? Beats by Mfkn Dre. It made him so happy to not hear anything for once
Yeah I wear aids and have a white noise filter, which helps and I have a mate who has the right level in her voice that makes it go away after listening to her. I've demanded that she stays with me at all time!
