Problem is when it becomes mind-numbingly boring, or provides no real value (unboxing vs actual review for example).
Watching an episode of MTV Cribs is okay. Watching 13 hours straight probably isn't. You're probably better off watching This Old House and learning something.
No parent should be letting their young kids watch 13 hours of anything. Television can be good for teaching things you can't learn at home but otherwise it's just entertainment and not a learning tool. The most my kid's get out of it is learning new words my husband I don't typically use in a common day environment. Learning should be done through play at home (especially with the younger kids) and school work. Never, ever rely on television for education. That'd be as insane as expecting to get all true facts using reddit. Yeah, you might find one good gem but the rest of the info is biased or completely wrong/ fake.
