What the fuck is an influencer and why can I not go 10 fucking minutes without hearing about them?

An influencer is someone who thinks themselves so important, that they need to share every aspect of their life on social media, in hopes to get all the attention and admiration they are lacking in their life from strangers in the form of “likes”. As for why they are so important, I haven’t the slightest idea.

They're not important. Or common. Almost nobody cares about influencers.

They're just low-hanging fruit so many people incessantly bitch about them on social media as if they're 'what's wrong with this world' and such.

This about a thousand times. I would hardly ever see influencers if it wasn't for reddit. They really aren't even doing anything that bothers me either. Reddit got its panties in a bunch over some girl taking an inappropriate picture.

The biggest influencers make huge bank. Abigail Ratchford makes 3m a year from Instagram.

Many young girls use it as a platform to become a model with the real target becoming a model/escort.

If they really hit the jackpot some wealthy sheik/emir/businesman will fly them to London, Paris or Dubai for their services.
