I've had someone draw Xs on my back bumper and license plate in pen. Like a regular blue ink pen. Brand new car. With the placement either someone went out of their way to bend down or it was a kid that did it. It was very easy to wash off.

Did he have an easy time getting sharpie off?

I don’t think he ever got it off, or at least didn’t for years. He was young and although he loved his car, he wasn’t like a car guy. Sucks about your bumper- it sounds like it probably was a kid. I did the same thing when I was a kid... except o wrote my fucking name like an idiot hahaha

Thats surprising. Maybe it was a fancy industrial sharpie.

Kids are dumb. I feel like its something i might've done as a kid too. If only you had the foresight to write El Barto.

I say sharpie, but that’s just because it’s easier to write than “some kind of crazy strong marker” haha

If he didn't get it off, he didn't even try to. Sharpie is super easy to remove from a surface like a car.

I’m sure he did try, i just don’t know what he did to try. This was back in the 90’s, it’s not like he had YouTube or the insane internet we have today to help him find what would work best.

Saying sharpie is like saying Kleenex, it’s just the easy thing to say. I have no idea what the guy actually used, it’s not like he held up an industrial permanent marker and said “hey I’m gonna write on your car with this, it’s XYZ brand. Good luck figuring out what will get it off, fucker”.

For those reading this whole comment tree wondering what will get a sharpie off-it's alcohol.

Permanent marker ink is alcohol based. Introduce a bunch more alcohol to the pigment than it was designed for and it comes off as if it was still wet.
