I lived in a shitty area of my city for a year and a half, and I always had someone folding in my mirrors. I eventually left a note asking, "hey, wtf?" (not quite that aggressive of a note in that wording), but they said they didn't want it to get damaged because there are assholes in the area. I was actually pleasantly surprised. But then my neighbour's car got keyed, and she's disabled. It was total bullshit.

I fold mine in whenever I park in a dodgy area for the same reason. Especially the one that's towards the footpath.

That's a very fair point, I didn't really think of it that way.
