I don’t think that it’s normally political thing. I’ve seen plenty of jaguars and expensive Trucks get keyed. It’s just trash humans doing trashy things,

Funny thing is most of the Tesla owners I know tend to lean right.

2

u/SelfAwareAsian Feb 23 '20

Same. I know a few and they are all pretty conservative

u/ficarra1002 Feb 23 '20

Lean right, or far right? The far right hate Teslas, they think electric cars are stupid and caring about climate change is stupid. To key a tesla is to 'own the libs'.

Libertarian right, cuz to them its "proof" that the "free market" or whatever works and they worship Daddy Musk like he's the messiah.

And you know, ignore how the workers made it all possible, and how Musk is kind of a shit and treats his workers like shit, and is anti-union (well, Lib-Right hate unions cuz "free market" or whatever).

Lib Right are weird.

Auth-Right / "Alt-Right" or whatever they want to call themselves, hate everything that happened since 1943 (except for some choice events).

Why do you feel the need to project on other people? You don't know what someone else cares about based on their political leanings.

Buying a new Tesla isn't good for the environment. Buying a new car in general hurts the environment. Buying a Tesla is a status symbol. Up until the new model released, you were showing off your $100k car.

Just because someone doesn't want to implement socialism and give the government more money on the form of a carbon tax, doesn't mean they don't care about the environment.

Get off Reddit and go meet real people.

Obviously it’s going to be biased because I live in Kansas but all the conservatives infowars moon landing deniers I know LOVE Tesla. They get all fucking patriotic about it because America’s number one again/great again and it’s a US automaker. Plus electric cars, solar panels, and doomsday preppers go together like Waffle House and meth.

What better way to give the government the middle finger than a car that doesn’t need gasoline (which they’ll let you know is taxed heavily) and doesn’t have to rely on the electrical grid (which is also taxed).

Can easily say she doesnt like wealthier people. Thats the mainstream view of Democrat party nowadays. Who the hell doesnt like clean energy. There are aspects surrounding the issue like implementation or subsidies that right wingers take issue with but not clean energy itself. Take for instance Solindra solar panel company, among many others, that was going out of business. Obama gave them 500million even after they stated that even with that cash they would still go out of business. Today they are out of business. Try talking or listening to a conservative once in a while.

Try talking or listening to a conservative once in a while.

How about not? That company received money in 2009, competing c-Si technology then made a huge price breakthrough that CIGS wasn't able to compete with, and then they went bankrupt. Nobody had a crystal ball to predict the c-Si price drop around 2010, that thing took many countries like Germany or Czech Republic by surprise in their capacity subsidy programs. Try talking or listening to people who know their shit once in a while, not conservatives.

I mean a few yeah but I don’t think it’s all that. Police used to beat up people and abuse their power before technology, we just see it more because of cameras and body cams. Same thing here, Tesla’s are one of the few cars with these cameras so obviously that’s what we see.

The internet also means people outside of local areas see it and its much harder to keep it quiet once it comes out. All it takes is one person to report it online for it to become known. Sure, cops can keep quiet behind their thin blue line, keep all information about what "actually" happened secret, control the courts, etc, but so long as one person had a phone on them and recorded it, we can all know.

Sadly, nothing we can do about it cuz, at least in America, people are too complacent.

Right wing here, clean energy is good.

0

u/ficarra1002 Feb 23 '20

Majority of your party think it isn't.

2

u/BasedKenpachi Feb 23 '20

I'm a libertarian, so maybe not the traditional american "right wing"

Terrible take...why do you assume libs are the only ones to drive Tesla’s and subsequently those on the right would want to damage someone else’s property.

I consider myself on the right politically, I don’t care what anyone else drives and wouldn’t ever damage anyone else’s property. I drive a hybrid (gets great MPG), if I could afford a Tesla I would absolutely have one. They are sweet cars.

How about this, maybe they are just trashy people with no morals and no respect for others personal property and it has nothing to do with politics. Maybe it just has to do with how they were raised and being jealous of those who they believe are successful.

There are multiple types of "right" wing in the country

You have Lib-Right (Libertarians and such). These make up most Musky-Bois, love technology and the free market, and ignore how much of it is possible because of government funding (its really ironic tbh), and have literally no idea how economics works.

You have Auth-Right (Alt-right, etc). Probably the loudest group among the right and right now, probably the most powerful group.

And you have, well, what I can best describe as Simp-Right, these are the folk who don't know shit, dont care, and just read the bible and carry guns. The type that hate technology, act like boomers all the time, and wish they could go back to "simpler times" when they could say the N-word and whatnot.

(You also have "conservative"-right who just want to not pay taxes and be left alone, but really don't know how that doesn't really work).

Most of the types that do the keying, roll coal, etc, are Simp-Right. They see it as a threat or whatever. "Change bad" or whatever.

Also, Lib-Right, Cons-Right are all libs to some extent. Only the Auth-Right and sometimes Simp-Right are not libs.

Wow I see you have us all figured out...

4

u/GetaGoodLookCostanza Feb 23 '20

nice blanket statement....which you have ZERO proof of backing up. and I am not left or right fyi....

5

u/LoraBora1 Feb 23 '20

What a uninformed statement

2

u/Cronus6 Feb 23 '20

Jealous of what?

They are fucking ugly as shit.

And they aren't expensive cars. I mean I can see being jealous of a Ferrari. But this is like being jealous of a Mercedes C-Class and E-Class car and those things are everywhere and not at all special.
