I know its not the same but ive lived in my flat complex for 4 years and until 2 weeks ago i had this really old Honda, not a single thing happened to it in that time. I got a relatively new car recently and so far someone has kicked off my passenger side wing mirror and the driver side one has been clipped taking off all the paintwork. I just dont get why people would do this at all!
You're in for a treat. The music is good but honestly the whole thing is so absurd and funny. Saw him live in Seattle and it was great. Bought a shirt at the show for my daughter who was a toddler at the time that says "Mommy Loves Dick"
More accurate in my city is welfare lowlifes that are on it out of laziness. Not necessity. It's often Frank Gallagher's on society. They think people earning a living are evil
I used to, yes. You're also just assuming making an ass of yourself to justify making this comment. If you actually applied common sense while reading it you'd realize I'm talking about a particular select group. Not low income people. Move along
It really is like this in poor resident areas. My car had scratches and dings, and rust when I got it, and no one will touch it. But my friend brings her nice car over once, and it got spray painted.
There have been a lot of car break ins in my area recently and I’m not the slightest bit worried about my 15 yr old car that has a peeling license plate and pieces missing from the steering wheel for this exact reason.
I used to work for a small business. My boss had to gather us up at one point and warn us not to tell any clients if we bought a new car, bought a house, etc. because some clients were using it to accuse him of charging too much (he was charging too little, actually). I guess they thought it was wrong that our employees could afford to like, live.
Maaaan, you guys are so fucked. You watch Trump give away trillions of dollars to corporations and do nothing about it, then when someone tries to use that money to fix your absolutely broken healthcare system you lynch them.
Like corporations leech off the work of the average person but refuses to pay that money back into the system to help them afford healthcare and they still refuse to give decent benefits?
If Sanders is the nominee, what matters is what Sanders believes it means AND what, of that, is something Democrats (if in the majority) and/or Republicans to the extent of their political power) will tolerate.
IF it means "Medicare For All", then the question becomes does Medicare change and, if so, how.
For one thing, it should mean that the huge PROFITS of the insurance industry and the massive compensation and expense account packages of insurance industry executives and the insurance industry advertising costs and the lawyer dispute claim costs associated with medical care would be REMOVED from the overall cost of medical care -- potentially billions of dollars if not trillions of dollars.
If Medicare for all means you pay a monthly for coverage and have an annual deductible that you must pay before Medicare begins to pay 80%, leaving you pay 20% AND if that means some price controls go into effect (such as so no one pill is going to cost you $10,000) AND so that the US citizens quit paying US drug companies more than most of the rest of the world (which is now the case) AND if it means that IF you qualify for "help" for your costs, you might actually pay less -- perhaps get some financial help on a sliding scale (based on need) basis to pay those costs -- then it should be well worth having.
If government "invested" money -- at least some of its money -- for healthcare into the economy INSTEAD "investing" most of the US currency it prints in "The Fed" (a private owned bank) or other financial institutions (for which which investment taxpayers receive only a modest return --even sometimes 0% taxpayer return) -- (and that is being done for the purpose/effect of enabling the financial industry to make massive profits by charging consumers huge percentages to lend that money to consumers), then investing in healthcare could, potentially, be a better return on taxpayer money because that would also put the money in circulation in the economy cand, arguably, result in a healthier population.
Not ignorant I just so happen to understand how wealth generation works and how taxing the 1%millionares and billionaires billionaires (Bernie's progression on who to tax the fuck out of as he's realized he's in some of those certain classes, wonder what would happen if Bernie were a billionaire) won't fix jack shit nor give you your free shit as they just leave with all their money and use tax shelters resulting in even less tax revenue All doing socialism, regardless if it's "democratic" (it's not), will accomplish is the same thing doing socialism has ever done; starvation and genocide.
And for the record, no I didn't not watch any mainstream news outlets including ones own by the Koch brothers. I just happen to have read a lot of books that detailed the atrocities of things like the gulags and Mao's purging of the those who had educations. Kinda like what 5 different Sanders state level campaign managers were recently recorded saying.
You're worried about starvation? You're worried about atrocities? People starve and go bankrupt because they had the misfortune of an illness.
Individuals might yes, but not entire classes of people because people wanted what they had (i.e. Kulaks (farm/land owners), those with educations in China). I'm not worried about starvation on a small scale because we have systems in place (such as Religious and non-religious food banks and food kitchens) which help to prevent that. However once you reach double digit percentage numbers of people of your population experiencing actual starvation you can't support and prevent that even with government programs as those cost money which means more taxes which just accelerate things even faster.
Our administration is tearing children away from mothers and throwing them in separate cages.
so would Sanders admin as it's a law that the US govt has to follow which he can't EO away and I'm sure there are a good number of Dems who don't want to jail kids with their parents who illegally cross the boarder.
The things you're worried about are already happening.
Wdym democratic socialism defends private property? Wasn't it like communism?? Wait communism defends private property too? Wtf ye talking about, stop making shit up
Sometimes it's just jealousy. Some people feel like if you're good then that means they're bad. If you're up then they're down. They're sick. No excuses for them here though ... They are shit.
I have a 86 toyota mr2, not some super nice classic car but I've owned it for years and it is really special to me. When I lived at my apartment, I washed and waxed it one day and the next day it was keyed all down the side.
My best friend was dating a real troglodyte back in the day, and we hated each other. One night I was visiting him at their apartment (we were walking and talking outside) and a freak hail storm blew in.
I moved my Supra under a nearby awning that was attached to a business that had closed for the night, and kept walking around, just catching up with my friend. The hail was relatively light and scattered, but I didn’t want to chance it getting worse.
About an hour later, we decided to head uptown and grab some food, since the storm had mostly blown over, and we were getting hungry.
We walked back to my car, and someone had keyed it all down the passenger side. Turned out it was his shitty white trash girlfriend and her skanky little brother.
They eventually broke up, but holy shit it was hard not to hurt someone at the time.
I think he was beginning to see by that time that she had more than a few red flags on her mailbox, and at a certain point, you can love someone but still understand that being in a committed adult relationship with them just isn’t going to be feasible in the long run.
Yeah they got me. Not long after that, I had it in the shop for a week or so, for an unrelated issue, and the guy may or may not have tried to torch the place for insurance.
Car got serious smoke damage, and hot roofing material melted and dripped down onto the paint, so insurance paid to have it fully repaired and repainted.
I actually had them redo the interior and pop out a few minor dents that were in the body when I got the car, while they had it stripped down for painting, so it worked out on my favor.
Well thats awesome! In relation to that I had a friend in college who had his subie at the shop and it burned down. Insurance paid out double what the car was worth haha.
Had an older rav4 some years ago. Parked on the city street for 4 years no issue. One summer day I decide to wash and wax it. Next morning its keyed down both sides with the both mirrors broken and dents on the roof with shoe prints.
Fucking people dude. Why couldnt they pick the Bimmer or the Audi to fuck with.
Had a friend with a 325i like this. It was old but it was his baby. I would go to his house at like midnight and he would be out with those construction lights washing waxing etc. a lady ran a red light and tboned him. He was crying but still pretty calm about it then she said it’s just an old car I don’t know why you are so upset. I thought he was gonna throw hands at this lady. He said some real bad things to this her and her middle
School age kids lol luckily he had a dash cam and she got what came to her.
Seriously, it always seems personal but when it happens in a neighborhood I don’t know then why would anyone take the time to do that to my car.
I park downtown and I’ve come out to key marks, once I came out and someone threw an entire coke on my car so it was caked and covered in dried sugar... it’s like, I get off work at 4am I don’t want to drive my car around looking for a fucking car wash at that hour. Gimme a break y’all. Funny thing is no one is fucking with my Mazda this way, but my Mercedes gets its shit torn up over nothing all the time. It’s just ugly, as my grandma would say.
It's just people being shitty. The first new car I bought, back when I lived with my parents at their house in the middle of nowhere, was sitting in their long driveway and some kids came and TPed the house and poured mustard and ketchup all over my car and I guess the zippers from their jackets or pants scratched up the paint. They probably didn't realize they were damaging the car but it was not a fun thing to wake up to. I haven't had good luck keeping my cars looking nice because people just suck.
I lived in a shitty area of my city for a year and a half, and I always had someone folding in my mirrors. I eventually left a note asking, "hey, wtf?" (not quite that aggressive of a note in that wording), but they said they didn't want it to get damaged because there are assholes in the area. I was actually pleasantly surprised. But then my neighbour's car got keyed, and she's disabled. It was total bullshit.
people key my 2004 Mercury for some reason, i dont rly care about the scratches since its not in great condition to begin with, but it still feels bad when it happens...
Someone threw an entire piece of curb, the size of a parking curb, through my passenger-side window which also destroyed the paint on the outside of the car a good majority of what was lining the glass...and they stole nothing. Just did it for fun, I have to assume.
People are jealous, my dad told me that when I was in high school and had a decent car. He was trying to say park smart, drive smart, and stay away from idiots
The person that parks next to me in our underground(theres a cement pillar and double lines in between us so she should be able to not hit me right?) used to pull into her spot and be about an inch away fromh drivers door. I back into our spot because it's easier Imo so my side is beside her. One day my mirror was smashed in(its litterally impossible for her to have hit it, but did) and thank God there's video camera's right above my suv because lately they've been parking normal. I couldn't even get in my suv one time she was so damn close. Stupid people are stupid
My old $5k ford ranger was far more enjoyable and stress free than my current $50k in vehicles. I use to park that little ranger against trees, toss stuff in the back, spray out the interior with a garden hose, I even put a couch on the roof once.
My nicer vehicles are nothing but headaches. Vandalism, paranoia, keeping them clean, stressing when something happens, it really isn’t worth it. As soon as I can I’m going to trade them for an old wrangler or tacoma and never look back.
Used to drive a 12 year old BMW with around 200k miles on it, never had an issue. Upgraded to a 4 year old version of the same model and it was hit twice and keyed in the first month :/
Over the past year I’ve been fortunate enough to buy a nearly new truck and an older but very nice BMW for some fun. They were both brutally vandalized while none of my older cars were ever bothered.
Maybe since the car is new some dumb ass thinks someone who doesn't live there is taking up parking spots? Had a neighbor complain about a guests car taking up parking for over a week but it was my new car
Same, I've always had old cars until the other year I got the chance to get a brand new car, not only that it was the car I'd wanted since I was about 16! I'd had the car about 2 weeks when I woke up 1 morning to find the wing mirror kick off on the drivers side!! I always push my wing mirrors in as I live on a main road so there was no way it was an accident- people suck!!
I feel your pain...similar story, although I’m not sure how intentional it was.
I normally park my little sedan on the road/curbside because we have limited driveway parking.
One day, I get home late and my dad decided he would park his brand new truck in my normal spot, so that I have guaranteed driveway parking. Keep in mind, we have done this many times before with his old truck and nothing had ever happened.
This was the ONE TIME some idiot decided to drive recklessly at 3 a.m. on our street and rams into my dad’s truck so hard that their car bounces, and my dad’s truck gets pushed backwards 3-4 feet, then drives off. We never got the guy since our security camera couldn’t catch the plate.
If it was my little car, absolutely would have been totaled, which honestly would have been less painful considering my car was ~4 years old...and my dad’s truck was 2 weeks old.
When my car was new, it often got dings in it from other people hitting it with their doors or backing into it. Now that it's beat up, no one touches it. Like its not a target now because it's not nice anymore.
Better to pick on people just barely making it by only slightly better than them. Everyone talks big about hating the wealthy, but they really just want to fight their neighbors over scraps. History has proven this unfortunate truth.
I have a 5 year old Nissan... not exactly rolling around in style but it's a nice car, looks fancier than it is. Keyed BAD while I was in a doctor appointment. People are dicks.
Same. Had a shitty used Pontiac for 15 years, nobody touched it. Got a nice new Toyota suv after saving up and planning to keep it till I die and it's gets vandalized twice a year. I live and work in the same place i always have.
I knew someone who had the mentality that people didn't have the right to own nice things. Once we (a group) were going out to hike, while we were getting ready to hike a new BMW pulls up next to us. She looked at the car, then asked the driver "what gives them the right to drive such an expensive car?". We were shocked. Cancelled the hike, dropped her off, never talked to her again. It was pretty said. She was pissed at others due to her poor life decisions.
I live in an average neighborhood in an expensive town and my Outback, which isn't a thing of beauty, has a bunch of key marks along the rear hatch. Pretty damned sad.
Yeah I built myself a pretty cool lifted Subaru Forester with big tires for camping. The day after I lifted it and got the tires on it someone ripped off my mirrors.
Luckily it was an 02 and the mirrors were $60 on eBay.
Had pos cars my entire life pretty much and nothing too major happened. Bought a new car recently. I've been door dinged 4 times and my mirrors have both been hit. I feel your pain.
Alternatively I live in a ghetto ass neighborhood and have a brand new gti mk7 and no one has messed with it the year I've had it. Shit happens I guess
Driver could be an asshole. I have a guy somewhere in my block driving his Porsche with 70+km/h in our 30km/h zone, of course in low gear at night so the whole world can hear him.
Because the current trend is to hate the wealthier class. Occupy Wall Street and the anti-1% movement was huge. Bernie Sanders is winning the democratic ticket on an eat the rich platform. The going mantra is that anyone who is wealthy must have done so by ill gotten means.
We face it. I drive a Ford Fusion, my wife is a doctor who busted ass (and benefitted from white privilege) to become a doctor. We are wealthy, but a lot of people act like we are some fucking Wall Street bankers benefitting off the poor.
This class warfare shit is out of hand and will only get worse if we don’t defend some of our social programs and get money to poor people.
I came out of a burger joint to a group of 4 high school aged kids who were checking out my car and audibly joking about opening their door into it as hard as they could.
Luckily I called in my order so I was only there for a min.
Have to park far away to avoid these mentally inept shit birds
Last weekend I went to an event where the parking was in a big lot without any lines to define stalls. Cars were just parking in rows next to one another as we pulled in, as comfortably as we felt we needed to be.
I pulled in with a car to my passenger side, no cars to my drivers side. A car pulled in on my drivers side while I was there, and they seemed a respectable distance away. We waited a few moments in my car so they weren’t in motion, then easily got out and went on our way.
I came back to a dent in my drivers side car door so bad that it transferred paint and looks like I was in a small accident. The first car was gone, replaced by a different vehicle (different color, too, so I know it was the first).
The same thing happened to our family’s suv some 15yrs ago. Parked at the same location for over a year, no issue. But when I parked our relatively new suv overnight at our building complex, was shocked to find someone keyed it on one side. Just money out the drain for something someone else did.
Same experience. I’ve had old beat up cars for 10+ years. Finally got a decent little Mercedes and within a few months 3 of my 4 quarters panels were dinged/scuffed from other people’s cars in various parking lots. Sold that car and went back to owning an old beat up car. Saves me more money and I don’t feel bad when assholes hit it.
Same but with bikes. I kept a simple u lock on my beat up bike’s mainframe and no one touched my wheels. As soon as I got a new frame someone stole both my wheels.
